Hey all, don`t forget that the rescheduled monthly meeting is Wednesday night at 8pm. Just go to the MA site, log into the chat, and then enter your screen name.

I cannot log into the Chat on the MALost site. I've tried, and am unable to log in. I'm running Java 2 Platform, and I always get this error:

Connection to MELANGE CHAT SERVER at 216.67.247.165 failed!--
MELANGE debug: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection to abort: connect

Do i have a version of Java that is not supported by the chat server?

I've uninstalled the Java's virtual machine, and then installed Microsoft's old VM, and it still didnt work. Wonder why I'm having so many problems connecting. What happend to the old chat program? Can we have it back, it worked for me? Looks like I wont be able to make it since i can't connect. Someone please post "minutes" of the meeting after it's over???

Nate, it`s working for me as well. I don`t know why you are having problems. Something on your end? In any case, a better one will be installed in the near future. As for plans on a "better" site, already in the works. May take some time since we`ve been extremely busy lately (it`s actually been a madhouse working mad hours...) so just be patient.

As for tonights chat, I just got home and I am not feeling too well. So after I go through the messages, it`s computer shut off time. David will run it unless he can`t make it so then we would just have the order of business on Jan. 4th.

The bottom line of the meeting seemed to be we need to come up with ideas to unify and motivate the group...thats what I got from it,, could be wrong,, anyway hope to see more people next month with some ideas!

Turnout for the meeting was sparse:

Jeepgirl
sstenner
(Mr.)02liberty
JoeJeeper
priell3

Aside from some pleasant chat, we tossed around ideas to be brought up at the next meeting scheduled for January 4, 2006.

Thank you Tammy,

Just a thought, but do you think that the reason for the poor meeting turn out is because, like me, some menbers don't know that there is a mid-atlandtic site? I was under the impression that everything was changed over to the new LOSTKJS.com site.

Feel better now. :)

Denny, the link is in the "Welcome All Mid Atlantic Folks" announcement at the the top of this forum which everyone is supposed to read when they first come in to our section. I usually also point to it when announcing a chat (although I didn`t this time though). If anyone ever has a question, all they need is to ask. :)

In any case, yes, we do need some ideas to get more people involved. A club is what you make of it and it`s just not a post saying "I`m here" and then disappearing. Each individual has to actively make it to events, meetings, etc. Saying "I`m too busy", etc. only goes so far. If you really want to do something, you`ll make the time to get to one event (yes, there are always some things that we can`t get out of). I know we are busy as heck, but making an effort to get say a Meet and Greet or whatever just once in awhile can make all the difference.

I`ve learned from the people I`ve met from this club that there are many great friends to meet. I`ve had many a good time with a bunch of you. It saddens me, not only in the MA club but other clubs as well, that alot of people don`t get involved and miss out on a ton of great things. New friends are found, great times and memories had, alot of knowledge gained from the more experienced people to just name a few.

So bottom line, we are all busy but if we can just make a little room for an event here, a meeting there (1 hour or so a month), the club would be the better for it because of your presence. As the saying goes: "Get Involved"! :)

Mike

We do need to do something about the MA site. It doesn't seem to be updated except with ROTM stuff. I'll help anyone out that want's help with the web site stuff. I also try to make every monthly meeting, but this month I was/am unable to get into the chat. What about doing a MS Messenger Chat room or something like that? I think it could work out better than the Java Chat room, that always seems to have issues.

I've used all three of the "Big" three, and it doesn't really matter to me, but I use MSN Messenger @/4 work, so that's just the easiest.

Hey ya!

Well this is it for my Mayorship, I was at the next to last town meeting Wednesday night! So I will be free, free at last come the 1st.

I should be available now, I should be able attend some more cyber functions and more meetings! I think anyway!

So what did I miss?

I keep seeing things about elections, dues, etc etc. What does everyone want to do? Should we start another thread on the subject?

Just stirring the pot!

Al
