Sean150 called the other night and was trying to help a friend of his with an S 10 pickup that would not run, they had tried everything, towed it from another part of town back to Seans , checked everything under the hood, had the bed off to get to the fuel tank, another fuel pump, fuel filter some new lines etc. etc.
They had been working on it for a week or so and still nothing, I stopped by, walked into the garage, they filled me in on what they had done to it. I put my hand on the frame, and told the guy to try and start it to see what sounds it was making, he turned the key, gas shot out of the pump, OK got gas and said " well you have a supply of gas back here lets look up front" Owner stated "No way, there wasn't gas there before" Attached the hoses, told him to try and start it and it fired right up.

I think I will start traveling around the country laying my hands on all the broken down and troubled vehicles that are lost and lonely out there! :P :P :P

It must be my calling! 8) 8) 8)

Oh it was a lose ground wire that was doing it

JUST KINDA FUNNY

I wish you lived next door, maybe we would cancel each other out. I think my 72 has spent more time on blocks than running.

I had a coworker (former boss) call me on a Sunday afternoon, said his S10 blazer wouldn't start. Spit and sputter, but wouldn't run. I hooked up trailer and headed out. Just for kicks, I made sure I could hear FP run, good, it's working. I turned key over and fired right up....told him I just had the golden touch!!!! Hasn't messed up since.

The loose ground wire or loose ground on the battery will get you every time.

I had a couple of those fixes, I always worry about that the same problem will come back at the worst time. Middle of a moonless night or the middle of a busy highway.
Now I lay my hand on my head and say "HEEL", I forgot what I am healing myself from, must be loosing my mind. :D

just to update you all, we have NO clue what is wrong with the S10 as it stopped working so he is buying a whole new fuel pump and such and so forth. I'm starting to hate that truck, left a pound of rust or something on my garage floor last time.

Next time, take the S10's grill and shove it into the pound of rust. it will learn never to do that again. :D

I once had a 85 S-10 and it would intermittently blow the ECM fuse. There was a bare wire to the fuel pump that runs along the front crossmember of the frame then back. So look for a cut wire in that area
