You know those laws that let parents turn in their infants to a fire station or hospital rather than throw them in a trash bin somewhere? Well, Nebraska takes it a few steps further, like 18 YEARS further! Check out this article. Sometimes I don't even recognize the world I live in anymore.

you really have to wonder what the world is coming to. Stupid people, I am sure there was a few ( maybe a lot) of times that my Mother would of liked to of gave me away but she hung in there becuse she had me and it was her responsibility, plus she says she loved me

It is a tough call ... if the parents are truly unable to handle the situation, be it economic, behavioral, or abusive, it's much better for the children to end up here than dead.

It's nothing new, you could have done this anywhere, at any time. Nebraska was one of the few places where you couldn't and now they can. Because there isn't enough news for the 24-hour news channels to report in one day, this kind of crap makes the cut.

Don't know about the other 48 states, but in California, you have 72 hours. Not 18 years. I'm pretty sure if you read the story it makes it clear that Nebraska has a very UNusual law.

How is that supposed to protect infants?

Seriously.

This is why condom machines should be sold in schools. The government, with the bail outs of the financial backers of our giant financial cluster-f***, seems to want to absolve everybody of any and all responsibility for their own actions.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

The world needs an enema.

It's supposed to protect kids by giving unwanting mothers a place the leave newborns other than a dumpster in an alley.

The Catholic Church has condemned the use of birth control. This is totally obvlious to that fact that whenever men and women get together, in any part of the world, at any time in history, there's going to be some hanky panky.
