I think that gladiator might be a little to long to do any serious trails, don't get me wrong but, I like it, but it just seems too big to be a Jeep (i think the same thing about Commanders). I thought that was part of what made a Jeep, a small manueverable 4x4 capable of almost any terrain.

Here's a new photo of the 4 door Wrangler (or whatever it's called).
http://www.mph-online.com/web/spyphotos/0030

From what they show it looks pretty good. Kinda like a newer Cherokee.

There's another company besides AEV who makes a kit to turn a Wrangler into a pickup. The dimensions are about the same as the Brute. The kit is in the 10k range as I recall. If I remember who it is I'll post a link.

I don't like the fact that it doesn't have extra cab space. I owned an `86 Toyota pickup (non xt Cab). I loved my pickup but seriously wished I had the exra cab space.

Anyone notice the new wrangler has a plastic bumper system like the KJ? That's one feature I DON'T like, as well as the horizontal muffler.

Be that as it may, I will probably be buying one as my wife is jonesing to get back into a wrangler and I don't really want to own any 2-door vehicles anymore in my life unless it's a mid-life crisis sport's car.

I would have to agree that the look of liberty is better the way it is, but if anyone was ever curious to what a truck version might look like, there ya go.

Now THAT is a good spy photo! Thanks for posting that - I've been following the wrangler redesign for over a year trying to figure out what it's going to be like. 8)

I really like it. Just need to wait a couple years once it comes out so I can get a decently priced used CRD.
