This has nothing to do with this site at all. Newbes or someone who has been on here for years. I'm still amazed that someone would send a guy miles away, a thousand bucks that you only know as a name on a jeep board. Maybe a hundred or 2, but a K? I guess I don't gamble with more then I'm willing to loose.

no not really I mean if I was in the position to get a bumper at that time, I may of went for but would of been very cautious, but you know I even tried to send dloc some coin and he refused it, since we were trading my drawings etc of new parts for his work, but I may have been in the same place as you, just never know do ya

He has delivered a couple of these bumpers to people as well. So if you ordered one after that happened then I can understand it a bit more. But then it depends on how you paid for it. Send him a check, money order or cash? Bad idea. Use a secure way of payment that will help you get you money back. Paypal has been great for me.

No your not Terry. You trust people to much. Normally a thread like this would have been shut down after the 4th post. I'm fighting to keep this open for a couple of reasons. One, maybe if enough people read this thread, someone will know where to find this piece of doo doo guy and give him what he deserves. Trust me, if I lived closer, I would be the 1st person knocking on his door looking for some answers. I'm sorry he is / has been / go though problems, but don't make your problems my problems. Give me what you promised, or send my F'ing $$ back, NOW.

And second, to make others aware that although we are a nice happy family around here, there are always someone near by that wants to take advantage of that warm friendly feeling. Do you research, and cover your booty before trusting anyone with $$. ANYONE.

OK.... This guy lives in SLC right. I use to live up that way several years ago. PM me all the info you got, and I'll make some calls around town. Not promising anything, but who knows.

With Paypal, like a Credit Card order, if you don't get the item you can dispute the charge and not lose the $

PayPal requires that the claim must filed with either 30 or 45 days of purchase (can't remember which right now). Went through the same problem with Dloc's rock rails he was offering earlier in the year... the money's gone.

Well, that makes paypal useless in this case for sure or any case where the guy selling says it will be a while before he can get you the product.

Maybe...but if you use credit card to pay PayPal I would think you could dispute charges on credit card end.

Regardless...the moral of the story is caveat emptor...Buyer be very, very very carefull!

Most credit cards are also 30 days.

Thats the problem, most everything has a 30 to 45 day limit, so if anyone drags their feet just a little then that time can fly by real quick.
Too bad the guy is so far away from most everyone, wonder what he would do if he awoke to horns blowing early Sunday morning only to look outside and see 20 KJs there ...waiting.......!!

If you have the USPS file number for the complaint, there is a chance the credit card company will help. They may look at the delivery date instead of the purchase date as the starting point for the dispute. The file number will show that you have made some effort to getting this resolved and the credit card company may want to join in if others have been defrauded since they may be on the hook for some of this. At the very least the credit card company will have a file on this guy and will probably refuse to issue him a card account for any business he will own in the future.

Well I'm someone who received product. It is a good looking, fine product. Too bad this has gone down the road it has. My guess is something speculated by mrkake or JL Rockies happened to Jason. He's just a young guy with a family, fabricating on the side. I ordered one before Moab to coincide with an installation on the way to Moab. Believe the first bumpers had shipped by then. There was a last minute postponement for that installation, and at the time, I kinda wished I'd paid only half in advance. I opted to return to Utah a couple weeks after Moab week. The installation was done in a couple hours, while I touristed SLC, and wheel well cutting, bumper mounting, and lights wiring were all top notch. My license plate was mounted, and a couple free shackles were thrown in.

Business issues aside, the bumper seems to be a complex fabrication that probably slowed the initial production rate. Looks like ~20 flat or bent plates that are tacked and welded. That's part of the good looks though.

I would've liked to see Sundance succeed, so KJ people have more choices, and so I have somewhere to go back to should the need arise. In the end, it's a shoestring operation depending upon someone else's workspace.

I contacted USPS and Paypal.... filled out all the forms etc.... I really hope they put this S.O.B in jail, since I know I'm never getting a bumper or my $ back...

I received this today in my e-mail.

Terry

Hello,

My name is Andrew,
First off. I have been given the rights to the bumper design Jason has come up with.As well as all order information.I have the started bumper's, and the info for 2 that I believe are at the paint shop. I can get pics of the bumpers I have to show that they are started and so we can be up front and honest in time frame to get them to you.
The only request is that I fill the orders already placed.

He has had terrible personal troubles fall on him,and he has asked that I dont discuss this with anyone. It was asked that I appologize for the dissapointment and frustration that was caused by this.

I was not given any funds with this so I hope you will decide to let me fill your order, instead of the alternative.
I will give you a deadline of the end of October to have your bumper finished.I will provide weekly emails and pics if you choose so you can see the progress.

I have not read any of the emails you have sent to this account,I dont want to get in the middle of what you have to say to him. I just hope you can give me the chance to gain your business and trust.
I will be changing the name under my own business so animosity is not carried over with the name. So the bumper you will recieve will not have the SC on the side for the marker light. It will just be a circle. And after these orders are filled there will be some changes to the lights as well, I will be using a long oval with a chrome bezel instead of the factory lights,They are very time consuming. The ovals are not.If you would rather have the ovals I can send you a pic of them.Otherwise you will get it how you ordered it.

Please just respond to this here at this address as I will use this until I can change the weblite and other things.

Thanks for your time.
Andrew
