Hey fellas,

I originally did not install exended bumpstops and was wondering where I can get some since I plan on getting larger tires soon.

Thanks

For the front: http://www.trailquest.com/teraflex/KJ/s ... l#bumpstop

For the rear: Drill a hole in the spring perch, get 2 hockey pucks and bolt them to the spring perch. Repeat on other side. 2 pucks each side.

I was a little more....devious in my bump stops. The front I just have the stock ones as I have not noticed any need for new ones. The rear I epoxied some hockey pucks on. I have been debating adding an extra one per side though because I have noticed there might be just a tad of rubbing here or there.

i have the teraflex ones in the front. in the rear i had to put 3 hockey pucks instead of 2, because with 2 i was still popping my flare off every once in a while. now it doesnt rub at all, it might BARELY touch now, but not ebnough to pop off the flares, i dont hear any rubbing noises at all now

Since were on the topic, is it necessary to get the Teraflex extended bumpstops with a Frankenlift and Al's a-arms?

Any reason they dont come with the Frankenlift? Seems like they would have included them if they were needed.

It's not really REQUIRED, but it is HIGHLY recommended.

So without them you can blowout your struts, or is it more to prevent tire rubbing?

They do...or did anyways have not looked for a while but they have a piece or rubber (?) on the lower side towards the tire that acts like a bumpstop, so yes they do/did

Also if you are running just the OME springs and OME Struts you do not need them either as it is supposedly built in, but with that said, an extra little bit of precaution may save you buying new struts

Here is an old thread with 4 pages of info on front bumpstops and the Teraflex front bumpstops, with pricing, part number, and phone number..

"Simple fact, when you lift by (X) inches, add bumpstops to equal (X) inches, and then you have effective working bumpstops!"
Simon said that :!:

yea thats for the downstroke bumpstop, i think hes talking about the up-stroke upper bumpstops by teraflex. i think most people get them so you dont overcompress the springs, if the coils touch each other(stacked) then they can sag prematurely(sp? lol)

but yea tom, i need to get something for mine for the downstroke, i dont go wheeling TOO often, but it would still be nice to have something
