We dont get anything like that in Australia thank god!

Does that do any cosmetic damage to the vehicle ?? (body, paintwork) ??

No damage at all....my expereince anyway, unless you try to scrape it off. If you clear the windows with a scraper the rest will just fall off with a bit of direct sunlight. Its wonderful to live in a subarctic climate. Our summers (in milton) are blistering hot with loads of humidity...sunburns in minutes...and possible droughts around every corner, and our winters are Arctic in quality with loads of snow and ice cold enough in some cases that any exposed skin will start into frostbite within a few minutes....the extremes of both sides....its a great thing....

it can do some body work if your stupid when clearing the ice. Common thing, atleast around here, is people like to run out and throw hot water from their sink on the windshield to get the ice to melt off quickly.....DON'T DO THAT!!!! The extreme and quick temp. change from below freezing to way above freezing shatters them instantly most times....and i've seen quite a few do that. I've also seen people who tried to roll down their windows with ice on them shatter them too.

Had an ice storm down here in north Texas a couple of weeks ago. I had ice covering my liberty from bumper to bumper just like that less the snow. The same ice was all over the roads. Some of the cars in my office’s parking lot were frozen to the ground and could not be moved. I was grateful for 4WD and ABS.

I can honestly say (and many on this forum will agree with me) that snow is the best for of precipation. Still dangerous, not nearly as bad as ice. Looks cooler then rain puddles too.

Polly,
Ice is what we put in our margaritas along with the little umbrella and some fruit. I don't know why people would want to put ice on their KJ.
