Anyone up for the Pine Barrens this Sat? Unfortunately my group won’t be able to get there until 12 and we’re looking to start right away with the limited sun light we’ll have and our long trip home.

So far the group is me, an old stock wrangler (’90 I think.) and a new LR2 that is still stock. So we won’t be doing anything too crazy but still looking to have fun. BeepBeepJeepJeep might make it as well.

Respond to this post and I’ll send you a PM with my cell so we can link up. The plan is to meet up at the Batsto Visitors center.

Meeting Location: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&g ... -74.764275[/img]

Im interested in going and would like more info. I used to wheel down there with my old ford club. What about meeting up at the diner in Red Lion on the circle?

A little too short notice; I have to work. If we plan one a month or so in advance I can definitely make it along with a few friends.

zoso7374 - it's on Sat not Sun so hopefully you’ll be all set.

WarriorMP31B - Where is the diner in Red Lion on the circle? I'm not too familiar with the area but I will have a GPS.

Our goal is to get there between 12 and 1. Since it's getting dark now by 4:30 my group is going to be looking to start as soon as we get down there. Since some of the group is coming as far as 3 hours away the timing might be a bit off.

My suggestion is to try to get there by 12 with an open mind that we might be running late (sorry it’s the best I can offer right now.) The flip side to that unfortunately is if we get there at 12 and no one else is there we'd still be looking to start right away. If you PM me with your cell phone number we'll have a way of linking up day of to work out the times and I can call and give a heads up if we’re running late since our trip will be starting around 9 that morning. You should get cell phone reception at the visitor center parking lot but in other places, especially on the trails the coverage is spotty.

clreinstein - check the link below which has pictures and videos to get an idea of the trails we'll be looking to do. Dirt roads, sand, water, mud. Some of the water is very deep, some of the mud is very deep too. Almost everything is flat, no big hills, no rock crawling. Most of the stuff has go arounds if you don't want to do them. A stock KJ with 235 size tires should do fine, the smallest stock tires may have issues. If you're going to go into the water I would suggest extending your breather tubes but it's not a must. I would not go unless you have tow points.

beepbeepjeepjeep - you gonna make it?
jerseyjk - will you make this one?

I believe that question was directed at "clreinstein". :D

Unfortunately I have to work on Saturday. My vote is we plan another trip on a Sunday (or Saturday, I suppose) a month or so in advanced.

yes I did have that all backwards didn't I? Sunday doesn't work for us and sorry for the late notice but I figured it's always better than no notice. This is something that came together rather quickly and the site was done when the first thoughts were put together. (Thanks again for getting it back up!)

The diner is at the intersection of 206 and Route seventy something. Not far from the ranger station. I hoping to have my KJ back together by then. Had one of the ears of the clevis break off 2 weeks ago and should be getting the part tomorrow. Im also up for getting together next weekend.

Also scoobysnax you and the other 2 vehicles are still going saturday?

clreinstein - yes I'm still going with the other two guys not from this site (a Wrangler and a LR2.) I haven't heard from beepbeepjeepjeep in a little while but the last I heard he was trying to make it. I'll reach out to him again.

If you think you can make it reply to this and also send me a PM. I might not be able to check the site tonight but I'll get the PM on my phone and can check from there.

I wish this was between Nov. 20th and 31st or Dec. 18th and Jan 8th I'll be home in PA. I haven't been in the PB since I got my YJ on 35s stuck in water right below the headlights with two stock jeeps that couldn't pull me out so we went into town and had to pay 100 bucks to have a wrecker come winch me out. I was only 100yards back the first trail when I got stuck. good times

I wanted to take the KJ down there for the past two years but havent had a chance. Let me know for future trips for sure!

I always wanted to try The Pine Barrens. Never been there before. When are you Mid Atlantic guys going next? It would be a real haul from here so I would need some notice.
