Amsoil pimp. Also the "focal point" (supervisor/baby sitter/problem solver) for an automated warehouse (think large robots that run up and down aisles picking pans and pallets containing aircraft parts) that supports the B2 bomber, Global Hawk, F35 and other programs.

Systems Administrator for Semiconductor IP company. We use a mix of UNIX and Windows so I take care of both, as well as more boring stuff like Veritas, NetApps, software delivery, keeping stuff working and band-aided, take care of some in-house systems or two, some LSF cluster work, hack on Python/PHP in spare time ...

I think I got my dirty little hands in a little bit of everything :-)

I am the operating partner for two restaurants in Vegas. I own just enough to hold me legally liable for anything that happens and not enough to make any real money (for the moment hopefully). I keep the fridges full, the employees paid and the vendors happy. I usually go to bed a few hour before most people get up and I get up when most people are eating lunch. It's a stressful, thankless job and yet I keep doing it. Go figure.

I manage a messenger/courier company. We're like UPS, but we deliver our stuff right away (our slowest service is a 4 hour delivery). Since we are heavy in the entertainment industry, I'm the one who gets to talk to the celebrity types and make sure they're happy. (not fun). I also do all the IT stuff here, as well as HR, AR, Payroll and whatever else comes my way.

As a money making hobby, I do network/computer consulting for small firms. I also sell custom built gaming rigs and fix all kinds of electronic stuff for people - I love to take s#!& apart.

As a money losing hobby, I like to wheel my Jeep.

I love it here, the town and the football games are like no other and the atmosphere of the school is great. Though paying double for out of state tuition is irritating, I can only hope it pays off in the long run...and I'm crossing my fingers hoping the loan company still wants to loan me money for next year. Last weeks game was a bummer, but there's always the Rose Bowl...ya cant win'em all.

Degree was Mechanical Engineering (because I like working on cars),
only people hiring when I graduated were in the Semiconductor industry
now I'm a program manager - doing Tele-conferences to Japan, Taiwan and Italy
which means I don't do any real work - I just get to bug other people..... :)

scull20 - 'the town and the football games are like no other' - you need to be in Austin when the Longhorns Win

I work in a printing company doing quotes/production planning and managing clients. I also run a printing company from home where I do everything. It's a lot more fun working the nights and weekends on my company.
