its not hard all you have to do is get a tester and find the wire thats the power wire on the fogs and the parking lights and connect the 2. that way when you turn on your hibeams then they will stay on.

:D :D 200th post :D :D

Anyways, the PIAA's are "65/45w = 120/95w" according to their web site. In WI i think we can only have 55W standard beams.

Are the PIAA's bright enough to get me busted?

Well,I installed the Hellas in the headlights and the Silverstars in the driving lights. There is a definite difference, but not near what I expected.

We'll see how long they last. If they kick early, I'll try GE or PIAA depending on the finances.

Your welcome! I think it might be worth getting the separate switch. If its only a few bucks more that is. There have been a couple of occasions where I wanted to run my fogs with the lights on low beam. But I am pretty happy with the setup as is.

I bought a set of Nokya Artic White headlight, foglamp and driving lamps. They aren't any brighter than standard bulbs but they do have a distinctive blue 7000K hue to them. I'll never go back to the OEM yellowish bulbs.
http://www.coolbulbs.com/nokya.asp

They haven't burnt out yet even though I once discovered water inside of the foglights (must have been that water crossing I did). I cleaned out the foglamps with alcohol and sealed the bulbs with a bit of vaseline.

I always thought that if you get brighter light bulbs that they run hotter which you take the chance of melting your wires or melting something, atleast that what i heard from soneone, so is this ture or not???

I guess it would depend on the wire gauge as far as the wiring goes. The higher the wattage the more amps being drawn. Then there is the fuse size to consider also.

What part number silverstars did you guys use in your foglights? The manual says 9145 for the bulb but I cannot find that in a silverstar or regular bulb locally? From what I can see it looks like a 9005 headlight bulb would work no?

I use the HELLA headlight bulbs. i put them in the day i got it, 2.5 years ago, and just a couple weeks ago the drivers side lowbeam light went out. i think it was from the jolt of hitting my friends house when i slid on the ice down his driveway into his rock faced house! 2 days after i hit his house the light went out. i bought the same bulbs again, i love em!

i have sylvania silverstar ultras in my rooflights and are very happy with those as well!

9145's are the same as an H10. You should be able to find H10's. 9005 or 9006 is the same base without the black tip of the bulb. Can't remember which one exactly though.
