2001 liberty ? I thought they made them starting 2002......or maybe your production date is in 2001.
Best way to find the paint, take it to your local jeep dealer, they will tell you what it is from your VIN number and they actually could tell you the brand of paint that Jeep uses to paint the vehicles with for the exact match

I believe it was just called Burnt Orange (my father in law has one so I'll check with him to make sure). BTW, the first year the Liberty was available was 2002. That particular color was only available that one year.

Salsa Red Metallic.

I got the same color (they made very few of these and I have only seen a one more on this forum). After '03 they quit selling the color due to lack of demand and introduced Salsa Red Pearlcoat. It's not the same...

If you look on the ID tag inside the door it will give you a paint code # at least my 03 does.

you dont need the color to get touch up paint. Just go to your favorite dealer, give the parts guy your VIN number and they can pull your KJ up on their computer, and it will tell them exactly what color your Jeep is. :D

somebody should do a write up in the tech section on reading VIN numbers, its amazing the amount of info there is in those numbers (year, manufacturer, model, body style, drivetrain, safety, what number it was to roll off the line)

Actually your right there, I just got a set of shop manuals for my 90 Bronco II and was looking them over this morning. Now I know exactly what gear ratio I have which trans, size of springs,
etc not to mention the true born on date and plant.

yeah I will get to work on making up a key to read VIN numbers, give me a couple days and I will submit it to hopefully be posted in Tech.
