Looking to get a roof rack so I can put ice fishing stuff on the roof, auger and sled and hut. Are there any racks you can hook up to the rails? I don't have the cross bars.

The Mopar mounts to the rails. Could get a defender but it is 500 dollars.

The only two I know of are the Mopar & Defender.
There is another one that some one just bolted directly to the rails; I’m not sure who that was. I’m sure they’ll chime in.

I'm building my own based on kjhawaii and I think it was kjliberty design. Have been working on it at work in my " spare " time. It will only end up costing me minimal cash but it's taking forever. Will post pics soon.

Garvin Wilderness racks mount pretty securely to the side rails, no crossbars needed.
I have one for sale if you want, PM me.

Love my Defender rack, found it on eBay for a good price. Much less than retail.

No need to bolt to the OEM rails, just replace them all together with a much stronger setup. Will handle way more then the roof will and I know there is one in the for sale section just waiting to get shipped.

Pick up a Black Widow basket from ebay and make some roofrails out of uni-strut

or make some of these for the rails.

What size Defender rack do you have and is it the one piece or bolt together?

48x48x4. It's a 3 piece bolt together, Front, center and rear.

I made a custom one for my KJ and I recommend the smaller or lower profile the better. Mine caught a ton of wind and hurt my mpgs. Mine ran the length of my roof and was 6" deep I think. I'd go for a 4" or so and 48" square.
