popping form front end

when i am turning from a stop like backing out from a parking spot there is a loud popping/clanking from the front end of my libby, could it be my ball joints or my sway bar which is loose?

Check driveshaft and cv for any tares.

If your sway bar is loose that could be it and I would check that first before spending any money. The sway bar can make all kinds of racket if bushings are worn or if it isn't on tight enough. (i had this problem)

The slow turning factor sounds like lower or upper B.J.'s to me also. Jack each tire by the A-arm off the ground 3-4" and use a bar or piece of 2X4 under the tire and pry up and down to check for play in the joints. Also work the tire side to side for any movement.

I was getting the same thing when we were out on the trail on Saturday. It sounded like someone was slapping the floorboards with a flat metal yardstick when I was turning AND hitting bumps. I had a hard time reproducing it at will. I crawled under there yesterday morning and my sway bar mounts were loose and the bushings worn. I tightened everything up and she behaves on the road, but I need to get those bushings replaced soon.

first I would check the lower and upper ball joints, no play! move on tto the sway bar bushings and swabar links, and last but not least something noone ever talks about is your Lower control Arm OUTER bushing the one your strut fork sits on, you may also want to check the lower INNER bushings, and uppers. Hope it helps.

i just had the same problem for the past couple of days and i tightened down Lower control arm outer bushing and no more noise

...hopefully it stays this way.

well the noise was gone for a while but now its back

could someone tell me if this could be it there is a little space if you look closely in the picture. It makes the noise sometimes when going over a bump or just turning

or if this cannot be it and you have any other suggestions just let me know please
