I bought all the interior ones for my Jeep. Everything in Super White. I will post pics when done.

Has anyone considered installing an HID Kit in their Lib? I looked at these . . . http://www.autolumination.com/hid_kits.htm

Can anyone tell me if there are any reasons not to install an HID kit?

I replaced all my interior lights in my Mazda 3 with the LED's. I found them to be a little too dim for my liking, so I put the original lights back in. The LED's do look kind of cool, but just not enough light for me.

These lights ARE BRIGHTER than stock/original lightsJust look at the pics... they were taken with the same settings on the camera (no flash) you can see the skyslider with the leds... but not with the halogen...

Regarding power consumption I KNOW it uses less power...........the thing with LEDs is that they will not make your OEM plastic melt or turn yellowish....

Just a tip...

Make sure to wear some powder-free latex or nitrile gloves when handling bulbs. The natural oils on your skin will lead to premature failure of the bulb.

..Thats only for the old bulbs you are taking out. LEDs will be unnaffected.

That's what I was thinking. Halogen bulbs burn really hot and any oils on your fingers will cause the glass to break very easily. LEDs though burn very cool, so no issue.

I'm curious if using LEDs rather than conventional bulbs would save in the amount of energy being drawn off the system? My knowledge of electricity is basic at best, but I know here we're constantly being told to switch to LEDs as they save electricity. I assume there would be a similar (albeit small) savings in replacing the lights in my Liberty?

Lastly, seeing as I'm wandering all over the place, I don't believe the list of Sylvania bulbs that rt_power posted are LEDs. They appear to be halogen bulbs, or at least some/most are. Not to say they won't work, or be brighter than stock, but they're not LEDs.

LEDs do use less electricity.. How much less in an automotive application, Im not really interested in going in to at the moment (long and mathy). ..They also last far longer than 'normal' bulbs.

The list of Sylvania bulbs was just to give the numbers for the required bulbs.. You will need to look up those numbers on the LED bulbs page.

I changed out my tail lights w/ LEDs. The lens has a deeper red color and I think it looks great. I'd post a picture but i'm a 1/4 of the world away from my Jeep right now.

where did you get your tail light LEDs? I've been wanting to do those on my tail lights and turn signals.

Alright I installed mine.

A few things . . . the whole thing took about 20 minutes, but definitely be careful of breaking lens or scratching the plastic surrounding them.

These lights are definitely NOT brighter than the stock. I know the OP stated this, but I find it very hard to believe. I put the two front ones side by side, and the stock bulbs are much brighter/more powerful. HOWEVER . . . the LED's are PLENTY bright for 90% of people out there. I am sure some people would prefer the stock bulbs, but the LEDs are still cool enough to offset the slight loss of brightness. But be ready for a slight decrease in light.

Overall I am very pleased with the upgrade. I will do the footwells next (in blue), then the license plate. HID kit after that.

Pics . . .

I got the part from a local radio place here in NJ, the stereo was taken out of my old car. I am pretty sure you could buy the kit from crutchfield. It is nice to have that there. I stick my phone in there when I am driving . . . those pink things are dry cleaning slips. Now if only I could figure out where to put a GPS . . . I already have the SIRIUS on the windshield, not enough dash for a dash mount.

I don't know much about HID light kits, however from what i have read on the nitro forum, it is a hit and miss thing as to how well they work and how reliable they are

yup. exact same bulbs, I used your post to order them. Again, I am not complaining, but even my 60+ parents got in my car the other day and couldn't understand why I installed dimmer bulbs. I think for them it was too dim, but most of us would be okay with it. Whatever, I guess one would have to see for themself.

Keep us updated on the HID kit. Where did you get it? I am very curious on these babys.

Hmm very weird..... This is not the first time I do this mod. It was done with my charger back in the day... (I used a lot less bulbs but the end result was also cool)
I bought my HID kit from HIDGATE (ebay, search for the seller)
A normal HID kit will cost 57 usd shipped... I used those also on the charger and they were great!!! (I used them for two years, then I sold the car)

I have never seen cheaper HIDS with so much quality... having said that: There are certain people back @ chargerforums.com that their bubls/ballasts only lasted for like 6 months....
Bear in mind that these HIDS come with a 1 year warranty so, youre covered!

hope this helps
best regards
