I have been wanting to get over to the Florance Jct. area and run Box Cyn, the Coke ovens and maybe up to the Martinez cabin...sometime. [/color]

I know I've got som pics of Martinez Cabin somewhere on my backup disks but can't find 'em right now, but that would be a 'check' as well. That whole area is nice to play in 8)

If I'm not mistaken... the Coke Ovens have been off limits for over a year now. Seems like the owners shut the place down due to vandalism or something.

Hey that looks cool. Has anyone gone up the backside of Mt. Lemon, from the town of Oracle? - then down to Tucson. That looks like a nice scenic drive. or done any other moderate to moderate + trails in that area? I've had all these on my wish list.

Yeah, I did that run with a couple of KJ owners back in the summer of '07. It was a nice drive, not technical at all but still a great view from up on top:

This was the biggest 'obstacle' we came across that day:

Yes the ovens are on private property and we as a club have chosen to respect the wishes of the owners and not trespass on the property. The photos above were taken back before we knew for sure what their status was. But there are plenty of other areas to explore out that way.

Oh and it looks like the moderate/difficult trail for FITS IV will be Charaleau Gap down north of Tucson 8)

OK, back to JJ's thread
