What are some options for winch mounts? Also, how silly of a idea is it to go to a offroad shop and try to get them to fab me something? Ideally a whinch mount with tow shackles to replace my hard to find hooks, and also give me a place to mount some hellas.

tom do you think that the backbone and winch would make the front sag a little? because i was thinking about this option instead of an arb.

you have the Frankenlift so you will be good, winch and bracket will be less than just the ARB by itself. You will be good I would say

For a little more than 100 bucks you can buy a TJM winch bumper at Rustys offroad.

if i didnt get a great deal on my ARB i would've just bought a TJ winch plate... and made it work. after taking off my bumper to install the new one i could see how it would work pretty easily.. and cheap. then just cut the stock bumper to fit around it.

i have a frankenlift and the backbone with winch mounted ( the winch has synthetic line) and have not noticed any sag in the front of the KJ.

probably not as good, it looks good but IMO it puts your winch down too low and makes it vulnerable to rocks or whatever you might hit while off-roading, I think the backbone is a WAY better way to go

i am with you on that i like the look of of it in the bumper but i would never do it for the same reason that you stated.... and going with the backbone you could very easy build off of it like lights and maybe even try to fab some kind of brush guard

I would go with either the ARB, RL, or the ROCKSTAR. Front end protection is important.
