I'll start out with this one. On the way home today i saw some lady had gotten her civic stuck in the snow so I helped tow her out and back on the road.

Gave a guy in a Chev pickup a boost downtown the other day. He was blocking a lane. A pedestrian and I pushed him into the parking lane, after I asked a guy to move his car ahead a bit. It was -35C. If I hadn't stopped somebody else would have right away, we don't leave anybody stranded when it's chilly like that....and a lot of people carry booster cables.

Sent money to my wife so that an area grade school in Moshi Tanzania could give all the kids something special for Christmas, most hardly have anything to eat day in day out but this year they will have a nice meal and some other goodies.

Took my son a couple gallons of gas since he ran out, at the busiest mall in our area, during the busiest shopping time......while it was raining. :? (kids!)

Filled a large bag w/ adult and kids winter clothes we don't wear any more and donated them to a local homeless shelter.

My usual holiday charitable contributions as always, etc.

hopefully some of the karma will offset the finger I saluted to a couple idiots blocking traffic because they just Had to run that turn signal and block everyone elses progress yesterday by that frickin' mall.

Helped my wife yank a Ram 2500 4x4, and I pushed a ranger out of a snow bank today, pulled an Eclipse out of on yesterday, Saturday on the way to the Cascades, showed an young kid how to lock the hubs on his C1500 when he couldn't make it through a stoplight.

We've donated six boxes of 'old' kids clothes that were still good to the DAV, they pick up on the 31st.

Gave four bikes, 2 Nintendo DS's and a Xbox 360 to the Lodge for some of our local families who aren't as well off as others.

Tomorrow I'm picking up some Hams, and Turkeys from SARS (grocery store chain up here) for the annual Christmas Dinner for the community that my Lodge puts on.

And rang the Bell in front of Wal-Mart for 3 hours Sunday. It was cold... very, very cold.

I have to be honest, I am a little troubled by this topic because I don't feel the need to express what a good person I am this holiday season - to myself, or anyone else.

On that note, I've already covered the topic of Toys for Tots in another area of the forums. So fwiw, let's just say the wife and I remember the military including certain local families who allowed a loved one to make the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Happy holidays everyone!

EXCUSE ME: The wife just reminded me that what I have eluded to should not be construed as a good deed - Rather it is the Christmas Spirit we share.

My good deed will be to bow out now.

A good point, I however, prefer to think that someone else's example may inspire another to their own act of Faith, Love, or Charity.

Merry Christmas.

Ditto.
Too often we forget what we could be doing to help out others. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant to make a big impact in someone elses life. Just simply donating some outgorwn clothing to a shelter while cleaning out your closet or dropping off a toy in the TFT bin on your way out of the store or volunteering your time at a shelter can go a long way toward helping others out.

I think it is a great idea to share our experiences about what we do to help others. I agree that it just might remind other people to get involved too. Sure doesn't hurt.

BTW CB, I understand where you are coming from and I hesitated to post too. I am glad you did post though.

Also, Don't let the holidays be the only time you share of yourself, at any time on any day, there is someone needing a hand. AND, If it is You that needs help, ask around forums like this. I would be happy to help out a fellow Jeeper, especially the majority of those that frequent this forum.

Happy Holidays and beyond!

Thats the way I felt about this as well, posting what you do will give someone else an idea of what to do. I have had people say before "well there is nothing I can do because I only have 5 bucks or I can only do this or that"
If its shoveling snow from in front of someones door , bringing an eldely lady her daily paper that gets thrown at the curbside, all of that helps someone, but yet many do not take the time to even think about doing it until you mention it and then the light bulb goes off.

Driving to Jewel this morning I spotted some people trying to dig a car out that had slid into someones lawn. Stopped and winched them back to the street, wished them 'Merry Christmas' and continued on my way.
