The shudder I have isn't from the TC as I have the Suncoast. I also have the TransGo kit.

Shudder is still very much there.

I'm in the same boat...... Just so you don't feel alone.

I am here to tell you what I have experienced. I had a shutter developing over a couple months. It got progressively worse, as expected, until it reached almost exactly 40,000 miles, at this point mine was shuttering on deceleration from 50 to 45 and the whole jeep shook like and sounded like, it was going over a rumble strip when decelerating between 25 and 20! I crawled underneath and tried to find any signs of a bad u-joint and found none. So I pulled the rear drive shaft and the u-joint closest to the rear diff was frozen! I could rock it back and forth in one direction, but the other was rock solid like it was welded... I took the drive shaft to a local drive shaft repair business and had both replaced and had it balanced. It drives better than it ever has. Smooth as silk :!: Well as smooth as a diesel can 8)
Anyone having any similar vibrations and shutters should pull their rear drive shaft and replace at least the u-joint closest to the rear diff. If you have any lift, it is even more likely to be the problem as the drive shaft angle is much steeper and it puts more force on the joint.
I am going to get larger yokes welded in and an over sized u-joint installed when I'm bothered again  and I'm sure it's just a matter of time...

Hay "mackruss" I have a couple questions about your CRD. Does yours have a catalytic converter before your muffler and does it have an EGR valve and mass air flow sensor? I believe most of the problems we have over here are caused by those systems. That and the shotty automatic transmission :!:

Yes, same cat as yours fitted pre muffler and yes she has an EGR valve and MAF sensor like yours.

I'm going to try to drive without a rear shaft and see if i can get it to shudder. I'm not going to be towing anything so i'm not worried about borking the front axle. Plus a couple of freeway runs cant begin to emulate the kind of punishment the front end has sustained off road.

I figure i can pull the fuse for the abs if that becomes an issue, i will try this in a few days and report. There's not much else to be done. It's not altogether unpleasant. I like violence, i'll just have to hold my coffee in one hand and my contact lenses with the other :P.

I am somewhat dismayed that this post has not gotten further along. I was hoping for a response from MRMOPAR. I feel that this is very serious, but I don't know what to do about it, other than driving easy during the time it would happen. If indeed the transmission is slipping, how can it last long?

In my case, the worst thing you can do is drive "easy". That's when I get the shudder. If I mash the pedal to the floor and allow the tranny to downshift, no shudder. But if I let it stay in 4th or 5th gear around 1800-2000 rpm...then it will shake my teeth out.
