The ones most readily available in the UK are Osram Silverstar promising 50% brighter illumination I bought a pair as i had already upgraded to a pair of eurodezins 6000K but the full beam on one has blown :( after two months

Osram and Sylvania are the same company so Silverstars under either brand are the same. Most XENON lights with the same wattage will give the same amount of light (APC, Phillips, Silverstar, Hella). The White lights generally seem to give off more light. I have tried the Silverstars and was very happy with the amount of light and the length of time the bulbs lasted. PIAA makes some bulbs in the 55 watt range like the others but they also make some in higher wattage, they give off more light but also give off more heat and have a shorter life.

The silverstars put out a WHITER light, it is not brighter... they do a great job, only problem is when you replace them it kinda puts a hole in your wallet!!!

I like my Silverstars. I get a wider and longer beam with them over the halogens. Even installed them in my ex's TJ (that was before I found out she was going to trade it in  )
