a 12 inch kit would be great to look at.. but for wheeling i'm not sure. sounds liked the 4 link in the rear would give you some sick flex but the front would still be stiff as a board. if it is at that price i could see people saying "i'll save the extra couple thousand and SFA it"

i agree with whoever above said time would be better spent making a economy SFA kit. i know rockliazards will to top of the line.. but also cost top of the line. if JBA could find a way to build/sell a fund friendly SFA kit (10 inch of lift maybe) they would sell like crazy.

besides.. 10 inch SFA gives you 100 times more flex in the front and lower center of gravity than a 12 inch IFS lift would.

as far as 33's.. i think it would be fine but in moderation. i'm sure i can find 33's that weigh the same if not less than my 32 i have on now.. and that's really what matters is the weight spinning on the axle not the tire size. if you could put on a 40inch tire that weighted 10lbs the d30a would be much happier than with my heavy 32's

..Thats not 100% true. The larger diameter tires change the effective gear ratio, thus putting more strain on the driveline, regardless of their weight. Therefore, it is harder to get your Jeep moving. However, you are basically correct once you are already moving - lighter is theoretically better.

I would think that a purely mall rig could get away with larger diameter tires...

Plus the weight is farther out from the axle center line which acts like a much heavier weight then it actually is.

I don't think I would trust a 12" lift on a KJ with a stock foot print. Remember why they lowered the KJ. Our KJ's are pretty high when stock, then add a 12" lift! Could be asking for some trouble.

He offers the 4 and 6 inch now right.. I fig'd he'd make an 8 or 10 before a 12. 12 seems like a lil' overkill on the Lib. Def. hope he's got something planned for the front end if hes claiming it can rock 35's.

As interesting as it would be to actually see 35's on a KJ, it would be suicide for that front diff. It's been said. Bad idea. Give them credit for engineering it though.

That’s the problem, there isn’t such a thing as a fund friendly SFA kit for the KJ. Most fellow jeepers on this forum complain about the cost of the Franky, let alone the JBA 4 and 6 inch lift. Most KJ SFA’s that I’ve seen are costing well over $12,000. Some have already spent over $20,000.………….. As my wife would say, “The Liberty isn’t a real off-road jeep, get a Wrangler for that.” Don’t get me wrong, I think customizing a SFA KJ is really cool, and a few of my buddies at LOST ROCKIES are doing so. I’m just saying that people talk the talk but very few deliver.

How much is fund Friendly? I would say top or 10 grand would be fund friendly...

few people talk because of the cost...... i takes a lot of time to aquire all of the tools, time, assets, parts, and beer required to do a project like this. I started buying random parts this summer and im looking at 2011 before i actually do it(mostly because of my upcoming deployment). It also doent happen often because it is a big decision to make. It doesnt always matter if you want to do it; their are the always present spouse issues.

ask and you shall receive :) 35x12.5's on 8in rims with moderate backspacing and 1.25in spider trax. yes it moved and drove.. yes it rubbed like mad.. no it's not practical by any means offroad or turning in less than a football field.

i'm still thinking about the 12 inch lift. is there anything in production to help IFS flex more? if so i think that should be incorporated.. or perhaps a lower lift and more flex. the cradle drop is a good idea but does it actually help while offroad or is it just for more height?

A cradle drop for a 12" lift will severely weaken the ability to survive offroad abuse with all the stress's involved,it's just for more height and has no other use.

There is ways to make a IFS/IRS flex better then any solid axled vehicle, but how much money do you want to spend? Your looking at more then what a SFA would cost(my SFA cost) to acheive it though.
