I'll defer to the experts, but I think ORI is actually ORT (Off-Road Technology) which is apparently an evolution of Chrysler's "Skunk Works". I've Googled and found a few references to ORT (see below for a couple) which would suggest that Chrysler is (or at least was) going to get more into the serious after-market off-road modification segment.

From the look and sound of it this is what they've come up with so far for the KK. The $64,000 question is: will these be made available to the general public and, if so, for what price?

And that very well could be what it says. When I was reading the list and saw that part ORI jumped out because as digger mentioned there are some Off Road Innovations (ORI) stores around the country but the other one makes just as much sense.

Wow, all the more tempting to strip off the plastic trim under the doors & cut the fender flares down...

Who's gonna guinea pig that one?

This was done on my Jeep by default ( hung up on a rock ) ripped the passenger side plastic off so I removed the drivers side. I am going to make up full length rock rails as soon as it gets a little warm

In the one of the articles it did indeed mention that the Liberator was put together by Skunkworks.

Ok, a couple of things jump out at me....

One: Anyone notice how the passenger on the right is holding his arm up? As if there was an oh-shit handle there? (Boy I wish that was standard)

Two: Can you really fit 33" tires with just a 2-inch lift and some small fender trimming? What about the front tires rubbing the insides? And I would hope they changed gearing to match those!

Three: This thing went through 2 sets of wheels, and 3 different colors! And who knows how many interior combinations. Pretty cool, I think.

Four: It appears they went through different bumper stages, as previously mentioned. Wonder why they went from the silver one with the bumper just cut off, to the new red one, with it's more stock appearance?

Five: The hood has real vents in it... why not make this a real option, or standard equipment?

To be honest that's a friggin great idea to remove the side strips. It kind feels like it's cheaply attached to the vehicle anyhow. Every time I accidentally step on it when getting out, I feel like it's going to break off or something. I'd love to replace it with a full length rock rail...if at all possible. :)
