Anyone run into a problem where there's no heat blowing when your jeep isn't moving? It works fine once the vehicle is in motion, but not while stationary.

Thanks for any advice.

Hate to point out the obvious but have you checked to make sure your fan is blowing? If your fan has quit, that might cause your problem. Other than that, it's beyond me.

I'm having the same issue with no heat when the vehicle is not in motion. In my case the fan is working perfectly normal on all speeds.

Try putting it into N when stopped and rev the engine up to around 2k rpms. If it starts working again then it could be the water pump. does the engine over heat when stopped for long periods?

may be low on coolant. I'd check that first as its the easiest and cheapest fix. Then the thermostat. After that I'd start worrying about your water pump.

I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be a low coolant level.
As soon as I added coolant, it worked perfectly.

I'll check my coolant level tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for your input. What a great community we have on the LOST boards. :D

Chris.

My resevoir was empty when running hot, so I put in about 1/2 bottle of coolant and 500ml of water (one plastic water bottle). Hopefully that will work! Odd that it would have gotten so low.

well it may have gotten hot, nearing over heating and coolant was sent steamting out of the overflow bottle, it happens when you over heat. Otherwise if your Jeep is running rough you may have bigger things to worry about. Check the oil.
