I am just trying to see if anyone has had problems with the lights the are behind the spedo. The other day I turned on my lights and noticed a dark spot behind the 40-50 area on the spedo. Has anyone had this problem and can it be fixed under warranty? Thanx in advance for your help.

Should be a warranty fix. It uses standard lamps so if need be the basic home mechanic can fix it. I'd get a shop manual and go from there if the dealer won't fix it. Should be a cheap $2 fix. But it is a bit of a PITA to take it all apart like that for one light.

I have had the exact same problem on my KJ and I've found that it always starts after hooking up the power to my rooflights (I take the lightbar off when I'm not wheeling) and goes away about a day after I disconnect them. It doesn't always happen, but I'd say about 50% of the time and never when the lights aren't attached. I've tried powering the relay from different fuses and the same thing still happens. I can't for the life of me figure out what is actually causing it and I've double, triple and quadruple checked my wiring.

ive just had to replace the bulbs, they are like .50 a piece and only available from a dealer, just remember that you take off the pillar handle first... and there is a little screw to get to on top of the cluster itself, but then if your still in your warranty period go for it i wish i was. good luck if you need more info on getting cluster out give a hollar...

Talked to the dealer and got the following. He told me that if they got the spedo out and it was a bulb then it would not be covered under the warranty. But if it was anything else that it would be covered. So he advised me that if I was comfortable with trying it myself to do so, and if it ended up being something other than the bulb to put it back together and bring it in for a warranty repair. So I'm on my own. Time to get out the shop manual and dig in.
