I've been keeping the very first post to this thread updated. We have 7 definites so far if I have the tally right. If you see something not correct, let me know and I'll correct it ON THE FIRST POST. I did this so Quinn can easily see the numbers WITHOUT having to go through 6 pages (and still growing) of posts.

I've requested from the Forum Staff, that they start a GROUP BUY section like at the old board, but currently none exists. So I'll just keep updating the first post. Please email or PM me if you wish, and i'll fix your info there.

OK, folks, we have 7 people willing to put their money where their mouth is. I had a long converation with Quinn today. Here's the scoop:

FIRST OFF, KEEP VIEWING THE FIRST POST ON THIS THREAD. I'VE BEEN UPDATING THE LIST THERE. IF YOU NEED ME TO EDIT IT, LET ME KNOW VIA EMAIL OR A PM. THERE ARE PICS THERE TOO. This way Quinn only has to read that post and not sift through 6 pages of us insulting each other.

Quinn said he needs 10 2002-2004 KJ's. They must be serious enough to put up some cash (exactly how much will be determined later). We've got 7 so far, assuming everyone on the list is for real.

If he gets 10, he'll propose to Steve to pull time in August off other, existing work to make us the bumpers. In a nutshell, they won't make a profit on this order; maybe even a loss. But the idea is for us to get what we want now, and for them to have a product that may turn a profit down the road. PLEASE DON'T ARGUE THIS POINT. Right, wrong, whatever, it's their business and they must do what's right for it. I respect that and will work under those guidelines.

So, if you're on the fence, GET OFF! We've got 7. Let's get a few more and we'll be in business. Quinn thinks August will be a good time to do this due to current workflow. I personally need this bumper INSTALLED my the first or second week in Sep so I can make my next Jeep Jam with it. Otherwise, I'm in no rush at all.

So who's with us? Post away. email me... PM me... etc.

PS Quinn will be away next week. Let's surprise him he returns with a REAL offer on our end that he can take to Steve, the final decisionmaker on the deal.

quivvy,
All J isn't definitely doing this yet. We need all the heads we can get. The bumpers won't be built until august some time. Sure you can't commit and scrounge up the cash (or credit ;) ) by the end of sep?

I need you in on this deal to get our count up, but obviously not if you can't swing it. The last thing anyone wants is for you to back out.

But I've seen your bumper pics. You DO need this bumper! c'mon. What's another $700

yeah i need the bumper, mines barely on and my fender rivets are gone. im moving across the country and im a student... another $700 isnt change in the pocket of my pants. once im out there, if i can find good work and can afford it. im all in. i just cant jump prematurely, and like you said. i dont want to be the guy backing out and leaving all j shy $700. best of luck with it, and i'll fill you all in once im out there.

The All J is 88 lbs, as I hear it. I believe the stock bumper parts that are removed weigh about 35 lbs. So I'm not sure if you'd need new springs for 50 lbs. Probably not. You might lose some lift. Take measurements before/after and then a few months later and see.

What do folks think of having tow points mounted on top of the bumper instead of the bottom? I'd rather just be able to use D rings anyway (not a big fan of hooks when you need to leave your straps on them).

Don't want to spend $700 on a bumper no matter who makes it.

certainly ok and up to you, but then I guess no need to post, right? (please don't take that wrong way. just don't want this thread getting excessively long(er) with flames, banter, etc)

Well, it's been a week and we've got 7 buyers and need 3 more before Quinn comes back from his mini vacation later this week.

C'MON!

If you know someone who might be interested, TELL THEM TO SPEAK UP!

Waddaya mean demographic Jeff? I wanna front and rear bumper bad but not at the price point here. That $700 is going to a front ARB, not a bumper.

Matt,

demographic

adj : of or relating to demography; "demographic surveys" n : a statistic characterizing human populations (or segments of human populations broken down by age or sex or income or intrest in a particular product or series of products, etc.)

:-)r

I may have modified the underlined part...

You do know that a plastic DC bumper cover is around $400, right? I'm not going to try to talk you into this or any other bumper. Although I do have a question... Why respond to a thread asking for folks that are sure they want to buy one and say that you do not?

Later,
J

Not picking, just hoping the suggestion/feedback posts move to the THINGS WE WANT FOR OUR KJ'S section.

That was my point earlier. This thread was to get people signed up for a new bumper and to hash out details with those interested.

I asked the PTB to create a GROUP BUY section, but until then I've been updating the very first thread here to make it easy for Quinn to check the list and check it twice

The rest is just a bunch of good ol' KJ'ers kicking it around. I guess that's ok too. :P

But yes, I recently priced the plastic cover and in my case, the extra Renegade cover. WIthout labor it's in the 400-500 range. Which is over priced also! DOH! :x

We're still looking for a few good men (or women) KJ'ers to get in on this bumper deal or there's no deal at all.

If not for yourself, do it for the 7 already on the list! c'mon!
