I've seen the post pinned at the top about lifts and the parts about needing bumpstops all around.

I have one concern though, today I ordered front and rear shocks(OME) and springs(RSX Ranchos) and rear bumpstops from All Js. I noticed they didn't have the front listed so I asked why and Heather told me I don't need them for the front.
Can you guys clarify this for me? You guys say yes they say no. Trailquest states this: Order these bumpstops if your lifted Jeep Liberty does not have extended Bumpstops.

If I do need them, then I'll order some Teraflex this week from Trailquest ($21.95ea) and slap them on.
Keep in mind I'm a newbie and you guys TOLD me to go ahead and ask questions hahaha
Thanks again

OK should I say it or not......
After discussions with various people over the years with different brands of shocks / springs etc . I say you do need, NOW for the record I had some conversations with Marc with ARB and he stated the OME shocks have a valve or something to make sure that a bumpstop is not needed and you will not ruin the shock BUT interesting enough he also said that spring stacking ( when the coils touch each other) is what will kill the springs faster than anything else, so read between the lines you don't want spring stacking so USE BUMPSTOPS. Also look at any well designed aftermarket kit and what do you find included? Yes Bumpstops, so do we need them AllJs says no but
For me a set of teraflex is cheap insurance so take it from there

Tom knows nothing about bump stops    Im just kidding, Tom knows his stuff

I would highly recommend getting longer bump stop front and rear, terraflex for the front and hockey pucks for the rear

I know Tom gets irritated when someone mentions bumpstops lol but you guys said to ask if I had a question.
It IS cheap insurance so I'll order them this week and do it right.
Thanks guys! Much appreciated.

"The only dumb question is the one you don't ask"

That is why we all hang out here so much.

Now for the hardest part....waiting for the stuff to come in.

Are these front bumpstops mostly for the spacer lifts? I know on my frankenlift those front struts are so stiff there is no chance those springs will compress enough to fold flat. But i am getting an arb and winch so that may change things. Anyone with the franky and arb have extended bumpstops?

The winch and bumper are definitely heavier on the springs than before I put that extra weight on. If you plan to wheel, I'd plan on adding the extra bump stops for "cheap" insurance. I’m planning to order them as soon as someone posts a website or link to where I can order them. ANYBODY?

it doesnt matter what lif you have, bump stops are always cheap insurance, I have never fully comopressed my front OME HD coils, but if I ever do I have the extended bump stops

I would get them, if I were you

Diesel,
teraflex Plus part number 0019301200 phone number 801-713-3314 is one place to get them

Now for others
I don't mind nor does anyone else mind answering questions, I guess I am different though, I came on here and read for like a month , then started asking questions if I could not find something I wanted to know. I bet in the last three pages there are 9 posts about bump stops, but no problem I like to answer things like this cause its a no brainer

Now for icarl,
ever been off road and fully flexed out your Frankenlift? A lot of us run OME springs just like you have in the Franky and I have had mine flat (stacked) before my bumpstops came in, so it can happen for sure but then maybe I have been in more spots that could do it

Thanks Tom, I will give them a call tomorrow.................. Also, if Tom is stacking without a winch, just think what an extra 80 lbs of weight will do in addition to the ARB.

Just a quick tangent about coil-stacking that has been bothering me for quite some time.. Progressive springs - they are designed to stack, and that is what changes the rate (closer coils stack and transfer to the coils that are spaced farther apart).. Is there something in the way that progressives are constructed that causes this not to be a problem? ..I know progressive springs seem to be geared more towards on-road, so maybe that has something to do with it...

..Sorry.. Ive been drinking and have lost control of my inhibitions..

yea but when a store that supplies JEEP parts says you don't need a certain part and a bunch of guys you don't know say you do..... it's not an obvious decision. There are still guys here that will say I don't need really them. So I'm going with your knowledge and wisdom!

I know where you're coming from though.... I'm a member on bassboatcentral.com and have been for about 9 years and alot of the same questions come up about boats and motors.... so I do know my way around boards and forums but I have to say that the search on this site really sucks.....or blows, not sure which

I do appreciate the help though Tom ... over and over again....on the same subjects
