Had the clowns at my local dealership clean the boost sensor recently and there was a considerable drop in grunt since.... any ideas?

Ash, Maybe it is loose, did you try to move it? Are you getting any codes? If they did not seat it properly it maybe leaking manifold pressure. It has an 'O' ring around the section that goes into the manifold that could be missing or damaged. The hex bolt might not be tightened, etc. Frankly I would not let a dealer service guy do that as I don' t think most of them know what they are doing around diesels. What dealer was it?
