Anyone added one of these to their KJ? If so, where did you mount it? What brand do you use?

If you’re talking about one of this, it won’t work. More of a snake oil thing.

Nah, I wasn't really looking at that one - just trying to get a feeler out there to see if anyone knew of a functional one

Just learn to rely on your built in pucker meter, it's generally more reliable anyway.

Not mounting it in my KJ - giving it to a friend as a joke - he'll never take his KJ offroad - he's afraid that it'll break  :?

So... while he's at work, I'm going to mount one of these in the KJ - it's all about motivation : he's a guy, it's a gadget in the Jeep, so I figure he'll just have to test it out. And what better way to test it then to take it on a trail :D

despite being usefull on the trail, this looks like a cool gadget... are there actually none that exist (despite the snake oil ones)??

I personally don't see the need for them other than looking at it and saying, "It's official, this is steep." Maybe I am missing something.

Those work, but they aren't accurate at all.

That's about the end of their usefulness.

However,

These are very accurate, still not useful except for bragging rights (right before the flop)

Buddy of mine had one on the dash of his CJ5 years ago , he was watching it one day to see how far over it was and ...of course he rolled over on his side, I ran down to see if he was OK, first thing he said was" ya gotta marker so I can put a line on this thing so I don't go that far next time!"

He never did have much sense

one of the coolest features of my 91 Montero 8) No, not very useful for anything, aside from increasing the pucker factor for your passenger

I'm thinking not so much for its benefit, but more for the fact of scaring the wife LOL
