i have a 2003 Limited.
this spring i am planning to do a 2.5" spacer lift since i have to buy new tires. i am looking at the kumho KL-71 and am wondering what size i will be able to fit without rubbing. can i go with a 235/85-16, or 265/75-16??

thanx

Do some searches on here and you will find out that both can fit with cutting and the right rims. Most run 245/75's though.
Are you in the military BTW?

sometimes some minor cutting but use 245-75-16 plus with that size you will not lose as much power or gas mileage

yes you can make them fit but you will need to pound the pinch weld and trim the plastic on the front bumper. But I agree with the 245/75's I like them and they look good. Your OEM wheels have 5.5" of BS, and with a lift and bigger tires 4" of BS is best so you dont have rub on your sway bar.

yeah you will need wheel spacers or new wheels. I had rub with my 245/75 but only at full lock it wasnt bad though.

can you run 245/75s w/o a lift??? what is the bolt patern on libertys? 5 on ??

also what is a decent lift to go with, i am on a budget so cannot afford a 600$-800$ lift but at the same time dont want to cheap out. **i get frustrated using search features as i never find what i want**

the KJ is 5X4.5, you can run 245/75 if you have a '02 pre-lowered KJ and you really have to pound the pinch weld and cut the bumper, the Daystar 2.5" spacer is the cheapest best way, but you need the lift which is $155 and new rear shocks which are $60 each if you get Rancho RSX17004 and then its best to also replace the front struts while you have it all apart and for a way better ride Rancho RSX17505 and they are about $100 then, and by this point for another $150 you could have just bought the OME HD coils and have the best lift there is.

pre-lowered, atfer '02 they lowered KJs 3/4" bc of roll over issues. No you thinking OEM, orginal equipment manufacture, OME is Old Man Emu, they run about $72 each coil. You need new shocks with any and every lift, now on the Daystar spacer you DONT have to replace the front but your OEMs are probably worn out and its best to replace them and get a better ride and handling, for the OME coils call Dirk at www.dpgoffroad.com and he will set you up, 316-776-9900

from just the coils usually around 2.5" and then you can add a little extra by adding a rear isolator for 1/2" and a clevis in the front and be at 3". The difference between the coils are their spring rating, if you want to add a bumper or winch you have to have the HD, but most get HD even if they dont have plans for either one bc it will usually give you a little more lift and you might change your mind later on. I highly recommend getting the HD especially since there is no price difference between MD and HD

so it wont hurt anything to run the HD coils and not have the added weight of a big bumper and such. *so the good kit consists of just OME coils and new shock? no spacers needed to run my bigger tires??

nope, you shouldnt have any problems what so ever. Thats is one bad thing its not relly a kit you need to piece it together, but it has no spacers it is a full suspension lift and you will be able to run your bigger tires. I can help you find the cheaper prices on the parts you need if you want.

do you know where i might be able to find dealers in canada. ontario preferably, i hate dealing with duty and alot of shipping costs. i dont mind peicing together a kit as long as i know everything i need to get.

i look forward to reading what you have to write, but i think it is time for bed.

thanx
