Hit my favorite stretch of beach out at bodie today, sand was pretty freakin soft today, ruts were tough as well, apparently its seen a ton of 4x4 beach traffic over the past 2 or 3 days since it all of a sudden went from 20s to 30s to high 60s.
I should have got some pics of the ruts but figured you guys have seen ruts before

i think i was ski'ing quite a bit with my running boards
this one gives you a little idea of how much traffic that stretch has seen in the last 2 or 3 days, those ruts werent that bad, compared to some of the stuff I was strattling, jumping across, etc those were weenie ruts lol
yeah thats my jeep off in the distance, was walkin around lookin for shark teeth and sand dollars (Stop Giggling..)
and finally, one of the biggest reasons i love the beach
And one final one, just for the L.O.S.T
On the drive home I started feelin a lil bad for the guy that was infront of me at the ramp to the beach, he was drivin a f250 4x4 and was having trouble getting up the powdered sand incline, after his 2nd or 3rd try i think he left to look for a gas station with a air compressor to air back up if he were to try airing down, I don't think I ever saw him out on the beach. I pulled 4hi and hit the ramp and kept it at about 2300 in 1st and had no trouble at all, I think if the f250 had given it a little gas without stoppin at the bottom he would have been just fine.
As usual I didn't have a single problem in the sand, no tranny heating, no traction problems, only thing out of the ordinary were some of the ruts, i got in several that were about 400 yards long and my running boards were skiing and anytime I crawled out of one I'd end up in another. At one point I managed to skirt across the lanes of ruts to avoid some really deep and wet mess which was fun which I must have been getting the occasional air because 2 guys on 4 wheelers were yelling and cheering.
I did see half a dozen jeeps roamin around or surf fishin, but didn't see any lost stickers
It's a great strip of beach, pretty decent fishing, quiet, not too many people usually. I try not to let loose too much because 1. I don't have a winch and sand-self-recovery spade anchors anymore, and 2. there are some people that go out there for peace and quiet, I just look down the beach and make sure noones anywhere near the line of attack. Normaly theres 2 lanes on the beach, a high lane to play a little in, and a low lane thats usually pretty packed and rutless. Today, everything was rutted everywhere except right down above the shell crush line.
I FEEL LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!
Gonna have to meet up with some of you carolina lost'ers and go fishin or somethin down there sometime
