I have now blown two front housings and both times with a Detriot True Trac in the front and a Rear Power Trax No-Slip. The second one even had the collar installed and helped to some degree in getting it home at least.

Push it hard enough and you can break just about anything.

I wonder if a front locker would prevent this. The tires spinning at different speeds then catching and grabing and sending power to the other side may be the shock that is killing them. Not to mention with a locked front you will not have to fight for traction so hard so you can be easyer on the go peddle.

Ya i read that i am not talking about a LSD i am talking about a locker. Has anyone blown a front with a ARB?

Also i wonder if tire size/weight is playing into this. What size tires are those that have blown one been running?

I've heard that the ARB puts extra stress on it just keeping the tires spining at the same speed? I could imagine it putting more stress. And even if both are spinning freely at teh same rate, if they cought, wouldn't that go bang?
