Does anyone make electric lockers for the front and rear of the KJ? I'm thinking the ARB seems like a lot of extra parts, the power to run the compressor, what if a line brakes, all that extra stuff. Not saying it isnt a great locker, just thinking I want a simpler solution.

i'd think chances of a branch snagging the wire would be as easy as a branch snagging an air line, atleast in the front lines are tough for anything to get to with our skids

i haven't seen one, havent seen anything otehr than arb and dtt for the front

im trying to think if ive ever even worked on something that had an electrical locker

Eaton has the E-locker for the D30. When it's unlocked, it supposedly mimics a limited slip.

for the front your ONLY choices are the DTT and ARB
rear you have powertrax no-slip, aussie, DL, DTT, ARB thats all that you can do in the KJ

Why would you not be able to put the Eaton E-locker in a D30A?

do you have a link for it? dont you have to run a wire from the locker to somewhere in the cab?

And yes, you have to wire in a switch. No biggie IMO

I thought that was why you couldnt was bc the D30A doesnt have a diff cover, so IDK how you would set it up.

I looked into it before I had the ARB installed. It wasn't ready when I was, I did read a review, someone installed it in a TJ. Eaton took a long time getting it to market after the review, more than 2 years I believe.

I'll bet its never been tested in the D30A. You'll be blazing the trail for everyone else. I hope you give it a try. It would be a great solution.

.....mmm I dont know what I meant there , but the D30A diff cover has the breather tube in it since the case does not have a breather tube in it.

A simpler solution would be DTT in the front and Detroit locker in the rear. Then you don't have to worry about air lines, compressors, or wires.

The e-locker is an open diff until locked. Auburn makes an electrical locker with a limited slip.

We have threads about lots of stuff, its how forums work (all forums!). Its how people learn, or re-learn as it may be. We all ask questions, and facts even change. If I asked about a e-locker for the d30a today, and then in 4 years read back about it, I would leave with the impression it doesnt exist, but we all know 4 years ago, lots of stuff didn't exist for the KJs that do today, so then we just have people leaving our site with bad/old/wrong information.

The problem with the DTT is it does not lock. If it locked, we would not be having this conversation...however, it does not, and therefore really has no bearing on this conversation. the OP specifically asked about lockers, not "What limited slip can I put in my front end"

And if you're worried about running a couple wires or air lines, you are probably in the wrong hobby

Your right I am a little worried about it but that doesnt mean I have the wrong hobby, thats also why I have a DTT and DL I just like knowing that I dont have to worry about ripping a cable or wire and it not working, and the only time I mentioned the DTT was when I said there are only two traction aids for the D30a that I know of that work.

Here is my logic, if a airline gets snagged, you can loose your locker unless you can repair that airline in the field.... If the cable gets snagged then as long as you hvae some spare wire, you can run a line from your battery to the locker, to get you through the trail. A much easier field repair.
