The 00 XJ Classic I bought needs some tires and I'm looking at the Kumho's above. This jeep will most likely never see any mud and rock climbing will be limited to gravel driveways  This will be my wife's DD and so I want a quiet tire. The Classic package for that year apparently came with 16x7" spoked wheels. It will occasionally be towing our 17" camper so the 102 load rating is a definet plus.

Anyone have experience with this tire? The brand is well respected on the travel trailer forum I belong to :?

Thanks in advance.
Joe

ThunderbirdJunkie wants those wheels.

Give them to him, he commands it!

Overall, for a quiet decent, inexpensive tire...go with the BFG Long Trail Tour

I have Kumho AT's and they're pretty good - never tried the APT

Tire Rack lists them as 9th in the group

The Long Trails are listed 6th and some General Grabbers 1st

I ran the Kumho KL78s for about 20,000 plus miles, still had over half tread left, ( just got tired of them    )
very quiet on the road and did great all around wet roads/snow/off road even
So if the APTs are any example they should do you a great job.

Thanks all for the replies  Thunderbird, the ride would be kind of harsh without those wheels  ATXKJ, thanks for the survey link. What I find strange is some of the more expensive tires are lower on the survey

Thanks
Joe
