Checked your filters and bled your fuel head?

X2 on UFO

When passing, try not to left it downshift, kind of roll in to it. let the boost build, if it does down shift, back off a bit and let it upshift 4th then 5th. Let the torque do its thing. By rolling in, I can hit 90  pretty quick. If I romp on it, it downshifts to 3rd, it does accelerate but I'm way behind the torqure curve. I can't remember where max torque is, but it's not at 3000rpm.

i get that same sort of power curve lacking with the 3.7 gasser, the high rpms are pretty useless i always back off and let it shift before it hits 4k

but on the note of tim's issue, he shouldn't be LOSING speed, something is awry there for sure

did you resolve the issue yet tim?

JeepinJarhead03 -

the 3000 rpm and loosing speed is a 'limp' mode for the CRD -
turn it off and on and it goes back to normal

the time I've had it happen - were fuel related - PowerService and a filter change made it go away.

but you can also get it from air in fuel - stock is a vacuum system
so a lift pump can overpower the air leaks -
and a new style filter head (or Racor) can fix the leak at the heater plug.

I agree with Allen M. That is the way I normally accellerate. It only does the no power, no speed gain, if I quickly push the accellerator to the floor and hold it there.

No I have not checked my fuel system.

The 3000 rpm losing speed in my case is not the limp mode. If I let off the accelerator it will downshift and I can accellerate normally.
