Cooper Tyres

Okay so no BF's in my size but came across some Coopers tyres and tires for the Northern hemisphere

Cooper Discoverer or ATR's let me know what you think of them.

Got Cooper Discoverer ATR's, 245/70/16 on mine. Quite happy with them. Cooper makes bloody good tires. Matter of fact, over the past 6 years we've went to various models of Cooper tires on all 5 vehicles as they required replacement, including the '87 MB 300D - excellent results in all cases.

I put Cooper tires on my wife's car and we love them. The Discoverer series is what I will most likely put on the Jeep the next time I need new tires.

I have the Cooper H/T in 235/70/16 and threadware is excellent.

I have the Cooper ATR in P245/75 and I am not happy with them. I have approx. 30k on them and they will not last to 50k.Tread depth at 7/32's. They are terrible in the snow right now and I will have to replace them before next winter. They are quiet and are wearing evenly. They were very good in the snow last winter. I have had ATR truck tires before and have been happy with them. Maybe I got a bad batch. I will not buy these again. Cooper has a new truck tire out that I will try.

I have run Cooper tires for over 8 years and will buy Cooper tires for my CRD when the GoodYears wear out.
The only thing I would recommend is inflate to the pressure members recommend (mine 40PSI/2.72 bar) and not the sticker on the door.
When I increased the pressure to 40PSI even the original GoodYears started to wear properly.

I have had the ATR's for nearly two years and I am very happy. I have only done about 30,000kms on them so far, but as "warp" said, keep the pressures up and you will have excellent wear life.

I have the ATR for winter, and CTS for summer.
Like them both.
They have a good, thick carcass.
CTS cuts through water very well.

I had cooper ATR 235/75/16 (slight rub) on the CRD - I thought they were nice road tyres, probably as good as the goodyear wrangler mtrs I had on it before...

I just got a set of 225/70/16 Discover H/T on my wife's new Cherokee and they are quiet and have good freeway handling. I've only put 400 miles on them so far. I got mine at Discount Tire and found them VERY willing to make a sale on Cooper tires :lol:

Basically they were $90 each and I paid for their "certificates" (free replacement for raod hazzard). It was $536 out the door for 4 with all the fees and taxes.

I have 245/70/16 Cooper Discoverer CTS with about 10K on them. I haven't had them in snow yet, but in everything else,
they're outstanding. 75K warranty, smooth as glass on highway, great water traction, great cornering and handling in general.
Ask me about wear in a year. So far I don't see any tread wear at all.

I've got Cooper ST's 245/75/16 done almost 60,000 miles / 100,000 km fantastic tyre. Have had a couple of punchers but this could happen to any tyre. My only complaint about the ST's is there a bit noisy on road and your fuel consumption will increase. These tires will take you anywhere

I've got 235/70/16's Cooper Discovery ATR's on Unique HD Steel wheels, slight rub but didn't need to mess w/ pinch welds. Awesome tire couldn't be happier.

Thanks folks, i'm waiting for the dealer in my locale to advise the availability of the Coopers in 17".

I have Bridgestone Duellers on at the moment and they have not given a good mileage at all although they have performed well handling and noise level wise.

That's the difficult part, trying to find some rubber that gives good mileage and still performs well on and off road

I'm on my second set of ATRs. I wouldn't have bought them again because the first set had the warning bars showing on all 4 tires after 30K miles. I got warranted OK and credit for the second set. Got about $120 off the price so I went ahead, but I wish they lasted longer.

At the moment the Goodyear ATR in my locale is selling for $200 each and the Coopers at $250 each, at 17" they all imported local boys are only manufacturing in 16"

In 10" of snow, packed snow, and some ice I had very little trouble accelerating suprisingly quickly, as well as decelerating just as easily. My other car was a mess on the same roads. I ditched the worn stock tires that were on the Jeep when I bought it within the first 3 days of ownership...

My "tire plan" is to run these 3/4 of the year, blizzak dm-z3 from dec 1st to march 1st, and once I have some extra money to risk taking my jeep out for serious offroad, some tires that can handle that.

I had so much fun this winter in the jeep, can't say enough for my CTS's. Performed really well considering they are an all-season tire. I enjoyed the control I had so much I'm excited to see what the blizzaks are like.

Part of it is just the Jeep. It's shorter wheel base, along with it's weight makes for some good winter traction. You will love the blizzaks. I run them 5 months out of the years out here on my rear wheel drive Mustang GT.
