Here is a link to the rack I cut down for my 03 Rennie to fit inside the basket. Even if u just want an inexpensive full size rack u can purchase an extension to use with this one. Not as heavy as some but works great inside stock Rennie bodywork (and who can beat the price - NOW $60!!)?
Edit (2/14) - The stinkers just raised the price $5! I guess they saw all the recent purchases we made and figured they could get an extra $5! It's now $65.

The crossbars in the image below DO NOT come with the rack but the plastic clamps (which u can barely see) which mount it to the crossbars do.

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PRODUCT&PROD_ID=1732464&cid=71742&fp=F

Here is a link to the more descriptive site (where it sells for more than 2x the price! but lists all the accessories):

If anyone wants, I can tell u how to mount it inside the stock Rennie Tupperware if u have it.
Quote:
Adventure Roof Rack

The open-air design of the BVG Adventure Roof Rack is perfect for carrying camping gear, luggage, utility containers and soft cargo boxes. The 4" high tubular side rails prevent your gear from shifting and also provide great attaching points for the optional BVG Stretch Net. The Adventure Rack's standard dimensions are 37.5" wide x 43.5" long x 4" high. The innovative 2-piece design can be extended by inserting the optional 21-inch extension piece into the center of the BVG Adventure Rack (extension piece inserts in to the middle of the rack much like a dining room table's leaf) . This increases the length of the Adventure Rack to 64.5". The BVG Adventure Rack is treated with an E-coat process then finished with durable textured black powder coating. Designed to last, the finish resists scratches and nicks and can withstand the harsh elements for years of rust-free duty. The BVG Adventure Rack will mount to your vehicle's factory roof racks or aftermarket multi-sport rack systems such as Yakima & Thule.

Easy installation takes only minutes. No tools are required! 1 year warranty.

Nice! Also can not beat the $3 shipping... What size did you cut yours down to fit inside the stock Tupperware?

I also have this rack but I removed my Reny Tupperware basket. It is a lower profile so less risk of smashing it going in/out of a garage. I have about 3/4" clearance with my lift and 31" MTR's.

Awesome price.

Tokyojoe,
Did u mount ures to the stock rails or use flat stock like I did? Flat stock will give u about another inch of clearance.

It will sit right on the Mopar rails, but as I said, using flat stock will give u back some clearance.

See my CarDomain page for a whole bunch of pics of the final mounting.

At this price I may pick up a spare to keep full size in case I remove the Rennie Tupperware.
I may also get the light mounting clamps which mount right to it.
Image

I'll edit this post later with the size I cut mine down to for those who have the Rennie plastic. One dimension of the basket is correct if u turn it 90 degrees so the normal front/rear orientation becomes the right/left orientation. The result is that those little plates that say BVG now are at the front and rear instead of on the right and left sides.
The 37.5" dimension is perfect for the front to rear dimension.
Then cut some of the middle out of one of the sides down to the proper width and weld together. I cut off the section of tube where one tube slips into the other so I could slide it back in and use it to strengthen the area when I rewelded it (actually, welded it, since it comes as a bolt together unit)
This is the unmodified size:

Mounted inside the Tupperware:

Hmmm...... Maybe this should go into the fabrication section..........

Nice but I don't like the plastic clamps if they where metal or could get metal ones would be a lot nicer.

I used u-bolts covered in heat shrink with cap nuts to finish off the look. The clamps it comes with are a stepped plastic thing so they will fit any size bar. They are quick and easy to use but IMO kinda ugly.

I just mocked up a complete set of graphic directions. See my CarDomain page #12 for complete illustrated DIY steps and pages 3 & 5 for more photos of it mounted.

I used the stock rails we got with the Reny. Square-shaped rails.

Wow! $59!! I may have to pick up that spare! Did u use the link I posted or somewhere else? (I suppose I could just pop over and have a look!)

Yup, it's at the original link I posted. They also have the extension piece for $48. Which would make the overall length 64.5".

Do you have to cut and weld no matter what or is that if you just want it inside the basket?

Only if you want it to fit inside the Reny basket.

1. You could cut and weld to fit inside the Rennie basket as I did.
2. Leave it as shipped (2 pcs, easy no weld assy) and it's 43 x 37 or
3. add the extension piece to make it 64 x 37 (again, just slips together).
I guess if u had a Hummer, you could even add a second extension!

hijacked topic: (sorry guys!)

What do you do with your roof baskets in the winter? I kept getting snow and ice stuck in mine, so I decided to take it off for the winter. Is that the best solution, or is there anything else I should try? I've thought about making the basket be hinged so I can easily swing it out of the way to clear the snow off it (or make it just clip into a hanger of some kind?) I should note that I have the yakima basketcase that I low-mount. I imagine the same problem would happen with any low-mounted basket, especially when you have the tupperware up there.

which brackets are they? A lot of places say "fits Liberty 2002->2005+" but they lie. They don't know that the 2005/2006 Renegade has different siderails than every other liberty in that they are 2" diameter (HUGE). Not many brackets will fit those siderails.

Ordered mine early this morning when I first saw it on here. For 60 bucks what a deal
Has anyone seen light brackets that are a decent price, looks as if I will have more in the light brackets than what the whole roof basket! If any one has found some let me know. I want about 3 or 4 setsof brackets. Planning on front, side and rear lights just for the fun of it! Want to be able to see when I set up camp at midnight

Just get some U-bolts and coat them with rubber hose or heat shrink. Alot cheaper than buying custom clamps. :D
