Not hijack 2006 KJ's tread but yes adding bumpstops will help and using the correct back spacing on the rims will help also,4"-4.5" is what you want, plus you will need to do some trimming of the rear flares to keep them on.I know I went through the same issues till I got the correct combo down.

I, have stock steel rims, with spider trax spacer's . I went wheeling this weekend and only had 2 pucks per side, and didn't trim fender flairs they were rubbing pretty bad!!! So when I got home I installed one more puck on each side, havent tested yet!!

Think, I still need to trim fender flairs?? especially rear door fender flairs????????

and i used tjkj's experience to find the correct combo :).. 16x7 with 4in BS seems to be perfect. although havnt wheel'em yet.

with my stock alum. wheels and spidertrax spacers they rubbed some but never enough to rip off the fender... would just always pop out the bottom rivit on the door flare... tjkj.. mind showing some pictures of your trimming on the rear? i know there is the metal door under the door flare?

Kinda bad pics,it's dark out(don't mind the black overspary,it was very windy that day and I was a little hungover).

The front of the rear flare............

With the door closed,I only rub just a tad on the lower portion but not near enough to rip the flare off.
Image

The rear part of the flare, cut enough where my 265's tuck into the wheel well with about 1/4" of clearance still.

Oh and I bolted the flares on,less likely to rip off,not fun to do on the front half of the flare.I also have 3" rear bumpstops also. It's a little harder to see but I also "rolled" the metal under the flares with a BFH,just enough so the tires don't catch on the outer edges.

well.. did some wheeling yesterday (pics and video at top) and the tires were AMAZING... the hill at the end of the one trail i could almost never make it up with my old tires.. also i removed the 7 washers i had (per stud) spacing out the back tire carrier because i finally have wheels with the correct backspacing. however they do rub more than my old set up... none in the front.. but they do in the rear a little more.

Personally I think you went the wrong way with wheels. Great choice on tires but not a fan of the black steelies.....sorry. I liked the renegade wheels you had much better. Sweet jeep though I just think with what you have it needs differnt wheels everyone does the black steelies.....

that's true.. but after i sold my wheels, tires, and spacers that put me very very very close to brand new tires,wheels(steelies).. so on my poor college kid budget it was a way for me to get new tires without breaking the bank... however i do love the black wheels... and the correct backspacing made life much easier.

what i really wanted was some of these.. but they were waaaayy to costly. (and only in a 16x8 so they would've rubbed a lot.. wouldve been worth it though!)
