Are there any real differences in the wrangler x, besides auto and manual trans. The reason I'm asking is I've found a couple of them, 2009 models with vinal seats and auto trans with less than 10 miles on them selling for under 18k. Does this sound like a good deal or something to be leary of.

Is it a JK or TJ? The X is a "base" model, the Rubicon is the off road model and the Sahara is the luxury. Options seem to fluctuate quite a bit in those categories, except for the standard off road features of the Rubi and the paint and colors of the Sahara.

Well as far as a JK or TJ I don't know, their both 4x4 and one is green and the other is red. I really don't know a whole lot about the Wranglers, I would think they are both off road capably, there listed as used but less than 10 miles on them and their 2009 models. They are the 2 door models also.

Ok they both have model code JKJL72.

They are both JK's. Front axles and other items come into to play as well as gears etc. I would probably buy an X if you are thinking about doing a lot of upgrading to the axles, gears etc. If not a Rubi is the way to go. The thing is you can get some good deals on the X models where the rubis are a bit tougher.

I know now their both the base models, what should I look for as far as front axles and gears go. The 2 I'm looking at both have ps, pb and full doors. But what about the price under 18k for 2009 models, think I should look around more. Whats weird is they are listed as used.

Find out what gearing they currently have, its probably around the 3:73 range but some have been ordered with 4:10's. Other than that you will get a D30 front a a D44 rear. Both axles are fine for the average person out there that will only do mild mods to it. IE: not planning on running 37's etc. If either one of the two has 4:10's in it that would be my first choice as when you go up on your tire size it won't effect it near as much. Remember they are set up gearing wise much like the KJ's where once you start putting bigger tires on it you will be wanting the 4:10's. 35's with a 2" lift is not out of the question with them and a fairly common mod set up. Even with the 3:73 gears, but you will definately notice it when you hit the road and start up your first good hill.

Ask the dealer to show you a Carfax. They only have 10 miles on them and they are used? How does that work? The X is a great base model to wheel as is or build up. Hopefully some that wheel X model JKs will chime in.

I talked to the dealer today and they tell me the reason their considered used is because they bought them from a lease company in Florida that was going under, and had them shipped up here.

Do you have any other info that can help up out? 2 or 4 door? Options? etc...

I know up here you can get a new 09 2 door for 16k, the dealership has a new 08 2 door for 13K, new 08 4 doors for 18k.

IMO you can do a lot better. Look for a new 08, you can get at least 6000 off MSRP.
