If you really like the BFG KOs, then you should buy the General Grabber AT2 tires. They look better than the BFGs, will likely perform better off-road, and they have a 60,000 mile warranty on tread life. As if that isn't enough, they are $60 per tire less!!

I'm gonna try the BFGs on my Chevy truck. I got the tires for free (285/75/16) and since they won't fit on the KJ I might as well put them to good use.

The Revo is a little better on the street and the BF Goodrich is a little better off road from what I have seen on the trail. The BF is the best all around tire and you do pay for the name (its a good one). If you spend more time on the highway, the Revo's ride better and offer better traction. I have a friend with BFG's on his Ford Exploder and another with Revo's on his Chevy Blazer. Both have open diffs and both have similar engines (4.0 V6 and 4.3 V6). They have similar ground clearance and the Ford seems to do better in the mud. The chevy rides better and quieter. Do YOU want a daily driver or a trail rig?

There are tons of tire dealers around here for General Tires. If you cant find one, online retailers sell the Generals too.

As an example: BFG AT KOs in 255/70-16 are $151 each on tirerack.com. General Grabber AT2 in 255/70-16 is $86 each on tirerack.com. That's over $60 savings on each tire! And the General will work better off road too! And has a 60,000 mile warranty!

I'm getting my Generals put on today. I'll let you know how smooth the ride is on road and if there's much noise.

Definatley paying extra for the name, but I'm not sure if you are getting much more than a slight difference in performance.

I prefer a lesser known/advertised name at a great price (and great performance) over a well know over priced tire. Just the way I am I guess, why not pay less for an unknown with the same reviews (or better in some cases) as a "top of the line" name?

Yeah that's where I got all my Grabbers. $86 each on tirerack.com. $19 for shipping and had them literally the next day. They have them in 255/70-16, and 245/75-16. just do a search by tire size, put in one of those two sizes, and select all-terrain tires. bingo. having mine put on in two hours. I can't wait.

i guess they stopped stocking them and are just shipping out their remaining stock....i couldn't find them when i searched by brand...but when i searced by size i finally found them...$92 apiece...it'll cost me almost $90 for shipping though since they don't have them closer to me...i'm gonna go out tonight and see if i can find them locally...if not i'll probably get them off of tirerack...glad i finally found them...I'm still in a dilema though...i'm not sure if i want these or the Firestone MT's....ahh screw it...the price is better on the AT2's and i don't really NEED an MT...plus they're both pinned for studs, so i'm not really losing anything....right?

General Grabbers are made in the USA too, and General is an American company. BFG is French owned, is that right?

Well, my huge delimma came down to the Firestone MTs or these Grabber AT2s also. In the end, I went with the Grabbers for a few reasons:

The Grabbers were cheaper.
The Grabbers were available in more sizes.
The Grabbers actually have a MORE aggressive tread than the BFG ATs...the tread blocks are more open, more siped, and have markings between them to eject stones and mud better.

Well I got my 255/70-16s put on, and to my surprise I have ZERO rubbing. Yup, with 1.5" lift up front and 2.0" of lift in the rear I have ZERO rubbing with the 255/70-16s.

Having said that, the front plastic air dam is pretty close to being rubbed, so just to be on the safe side I'm going to trim it with my Dremel tool tomorrow. Oh...and I LOVE these tires!!

Michelin is French, not BFG.

It's been my experience that all-terrain tires give you just enough traction to get seriously stuck. I have personally owned bfg all-terrain,cooper atr and goodyear at. They all stink in anything over a big mud puddle. All-terrain tires are a compromise between all driving conditions and in doing so they are really good at none. Maybe one, they excell in snow when they are new. If you plan on mudding at all do yourself a favor and buy a purpose mud tire with some cheap steel wheels. Throw them on when you want to mud, take them off when your done.Mud tires last forever when you do this and you get all the perks of having a regular tire on the road-gas milage, handling, and longetivity. Back when I mud dragged with a friend the best mud tire we could find was a super-swamper bogger. second was bfg mud-terrain. The mud-terrains were his street tires until they wore out-17,000 miles later! I personally cannot fathom why everyone loves bfg all-terrains. They were the most expensive and least capable tire I have ever owned. Just my 2 cents.
