So, for all of you living anywhere other than the deep south or southwest, this won't be that impressive, but it's the first time since I've lived at my current residence (6 years) that there's been any accumulation to speak of. Enjoy!

sweeeeeeeeet.

we got snow here last night and it snowing today....got about 6 inches. The city is a mess. I went outside at 6:30 this morning and watched a suburban just spin his tires trying to make it up the tiny little hill out front...he eventually gave up.

Best part....work got canceled all day!!!! first time in at least 10 years

For 6" of snow? Really?

hahaha yeah. Richmond is crazy. They cancel school if there is going to be a chance for an inch of snow. People here don't go out if anything happens. Its pretty funny. It was a different story when I lived in Pittsburgh, but I'm not complaining today!!!! Crazy Southerners!!! I will say though, in the north they know how to handle the roads. They didn't even salt or sand here until about 8 oclock when there was already 5 inches on the ground so the roads were pretty bad considering it rained all day before changing to snow. Snow on top of ice. And downtown where I live some of the roads are the old brick style so they can't plow.

we got about 5 inches in Warrenton,VA but south of DC they got around a foot in places. My work cancelled for the day too. All scheduled work was in DC today so no sense getting in the way of snow removal efforts in our nation's capitol! 8)

Atlanta gets snow every once in a while so it is a treet for you guys.

All we got was an inch - maybe 2 absolute max in places - and it was just light powder from the storm because it blew south of us and went up the coast. But we have had 55 inches so far this year through February so we are about average so far. We usually get a 2 foot plus storm and we have not had that yet but winter is not over yet. We need a 2 1/2 - 3 foot snow storm for them to close the schools around here.
