scheduled a TC change for my jeep with my local mechanic. This guys have good rep and everybody seems happy with their work... but !

I would like to make sure they do things right or as right as posible, since they don`t see many or any at all CRD`s.

what should I tell the guys to look after when they do the TC change ? what should they be careful with ?

work to be done by this guys....
TC replacement
new fluid
new filters.
I m going to replace fluid with recommended by jeep, unless someone thinks i shouldn't ! (or have a better suggestion)

Thanks a lot.

PS: i would do this myself if A) wasnt cold as balls b) my hoa wouldn`t want to fine me, each time i work on my car/trucks.

When I had mine done at a local shop they had to order the ATF fluid as it was not something they normally stock. They told me the CRD tranny requires a different type of fluid from the gas version. They put in a non-chrysler brand (can't remember which) that exceeded Jeep specs.

All Chrysler transmission use ATF+4 now,gas or diesel. There is only one known ATF that exceeds ATF+4,that's the Amsoil ATF,both ATF+4 and Amsoil ATF are full synthetic,is the fluid put in yours full synthetic?.You might want to find out what fluid was used since Chrysler tranny's don't like DexIII,DexIV,or DexVI very much in the long run and will void any warranty.
