Today after work I tried to open my tailgate and the glass popped open but the door latch won't release. I can hear the mechanism release but the tailgate won't open. Anybody have this happen before and have any suggestions?

I had the same thing happen - the electronic lock mechanism died. Had to get the mechanism replaced.

Does anyone have pictures of what the part looks like and is it something I can replace myself?

Mine has done that a couple of times, just started recently. Both times I used the remote to relock the doors, then reopened and the gate opened each time.

I tried that several times but no luck. It still won't open.
