Ok, so in reality I already did...the one that controls the right side parking lights to be exact. Now my dash lights don't come on when i turn on the lights...Is this normal??? I have to run out and get a replacement fuse tomorrow but i just wanted to know if i should be looking for a second blown one. Also, does anyone have spare fuses already in their fuse box??? I looked at the manual and all the fuse locations that are marked as "spare" are just empty...the title seems to imply that there would be a spare fuse there...Just wondering if that's the case and mine are just missing. :?: :?: :?:

Thanks,
-Savage-

Check some of the other fuses. Look at the list of fuses in the owners manual, and you'll see more than a couple of fuses that include the word "cluster." My bet is that one of these blew, too.

Well, it turns out that it was just that one fuse, i found the fuse for the export-only rear fog lights and just used that one....all my problems solved...i'll get a few spares just to have around though. Thanks for your help.

Has anyone else noticed that the OM is wrong? All the fuses are in different places from where it tells me they are. Takes forever to find a fuse when it blows!! And there is a place on the cover to put spare fuses.

On my 05 Renegade, they all were in the correct spots.

When the manufacturer lists a fuse slot as 'spare' it doesn't mean that's where they store the spare fuses. What they are refering to is a spot a fuse can be added to for future equipment as the manufacturer changes stuff. This cuts down on their costs so if they add something they don't have to redesign the fuse box. Also, it allows them to use the same fuse box in multiple vehicles.

That's what i figured...but it would still be nice if they actually put spare fuses in there.

On previous vehicles the "spare" slots were there but since there was no wiring to them, there were also no clips to hold any fuses in the spare slot. Any fuses put in there would just fall out since the clips that normally hold the fuses in place are part of the wiring. Not sure how the KJ is. Most fuse boxes have 1 or 2 spots in/on the cover which will actually hold a fuse.

my owner's manual is correct on the fuses, I keep my spare fuses (have a box of 20 minis and the weird prizm shaped ones under the hood) in all amp ratings in my glovebox.

My gauge lights just went out 2 nights ago along with my climate control cluster. You said you just replaces the "export-only" fuse?

Keep in mind that the BCM logic is so comprehensive on the KJ, and any newer vehicle that one malfunctioning circuit or blown fuse can have cascading implications throughout the vehicle.

Yup, just used the one that went in the rear fog light slot, and everything works fine, just make sure it's the right Aperage, but you knew that....
