I ran across a smokin' deal one some of these tires today on CL and just couldn't pass it up. I got 4 of them, each with 11/32 (about 80%) of tread left for only $100. I have been wanting to go up to 31x10.50's and this was my chance. I had bought 235-75-15's which are very close to stock size, then I did a Daystar lift and those just looked small after lifting. I have been running around with those little donuts for 6 months with my lift now. But these 31's complete it. What do ya think?

I did update my Treadwright review - Post #1. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 904#415904 But I only put 7200 miles on them. Overall, I really liked them. Wouldn't hesitate to put them on any car again in the future.

I agree. I was happily surprised when I picked them up at how much tread they actually had when I measured them with a gauge.

My Dodge Cummins came factory with the Michelin LTX M/S. I just rolled over 40,000 miles and I’d say I have a good 20,000 miles left on them.

I have to say, they ride really good too.

And... Now my speedo is dead-on accurate for the first time since I bought the vehicle. The odometer has always been right, but the speedo always lagged about 3-4 mph. With the 31's, my speedo matches my gps speed within 0.5 mph. But I tested the odometer, and I am actually traveling 16% farther than the odometer reads. Not to worry. I will disclose that info IF I ever sell it.

Already looking like 2 MPG in town just judging from the EVIC. I am making an 800 mile trip this weekend so I will get some reliable highway numbers to compare also.

How is the ride, I stopped by a tire dealer and he said they have had complaints about the ride being too harsh. What is your oppinion?

Make sure you go with a P rated tire. IMO, LT tires with a Load C, D, and E are going to ride much stiffer. It seems that the KJ’s unibody does not absorb the vibrations that may come from a stiffer sidewall tire. I have LOAD E tires on my KJ and they ride very stiff as compared to a P rated tire.

Plus, you want a light weight tire for fuel economy. An LT LOAD E may weigh several lbs more versus a P-rated tire.

If you like the Michelin LTX M/S, then I highly suggest the Michelin LTX A/T 2’s. They have the same smooth ride characteristics with a little more aggressive tread design. Off-road reviewers who have tested them said they are good A/T tires when aired down.

As diesel said, of you like a soft ride, go with a P rated tire. I will however stick with a LT rated tire because I like the feel

This goes back to my philosophy to run two sets of tires.

1. P-rated highway tire that matches your gear ratio to promote fuel efficiency. The main purpose for this tire would be for commuting to work and highway travel.
2. LT tire built for off-road use, airing down, and has plenty of sidewall protection. The main purpose for this tire would be for backcountry travel.

I put about 800 miles on them on highway this weekend. They ride great. Just as good or better than the stock Wrangler ST's (which we all know were junk) . Yes, the are an LT tire, but I still think they ride great. I ran them at 38 psi on the highway just to get a little better gas mileage. Will probably drop them down to 35-36 for general everyday driving. I am also running 15" rims, so I have a little more rubber than with 16's or 17's. That probably smooths it out a little.

to Thunderbird - I am running the Goodyear Wrangler St at this time not a AT tire. I am looking for a tire that is going to last and give a desent ride since most of my driving is done on the highway - aprox. 35,000 miles a year.
