I am running Bridgestone Revo's. Awesome tire, but a bit pricey. I went from the stock CrapYears' to the 245/75/16's so I can't really comment on mileage much compared to the original (plus I lifted at the same time). I get around 24-26 with my Jeep nowadays, and I am happy with that. The taller tire has lowered the rev's a bit, which is nice on the highway.

I'm in the camp of having dedicated tires for different applications myself. I bought new all season road tires first. I'm going to buy winter tires this fall and then a set for offroad next spring. The worst part is buying all the rims & keeping your rotations straight. I'll use a few sets of tires while I own it anyway, and I believe this will be the most cost effective and safe method. My Cooper CTS I bought for road driving are going to be safer, quieter, and more comfortable than anything decent for offroading. I assume the milage would be better too but I can't say for sure.

The first thing I'd say to anyone about the stock goodyear wranglers is to remove them regardless of tread life remaining. They sound like crap, handle like crap, and grip like crap. Basically they are dangerous IMO. The nice thing about dedicated tires for road, snow, and offroad is that you'd have ultimate control & starting/stopping power in each situation. Personally I think thats more important than "looking rugged" on the highway, but thats just me.
