I dont recall that you had the premium group II.... if you do, then the filter MUST be located on the passenger side of the KK and as far as I know its not a 5 minute install....
you have to take apart some dashboard pieces!
please someone correct me if im mistaken
thanks!

Most quick lubes don't charge labor on them. I know the quick lube by my house doesn't charge labor on them if you are getting an oil change at the same time. How many miles are on your truck?

Because I was told it was suggested maintenace to be replaced at 12,000 miles. That, plus inspect/replace the brake linings at this mileage.... :o

Go to the dealer in your free time.
Ask to see a diagram of the install...

it might be easy..

not sure... I have a long time before we hit 12k miles..
it is good to do so teh car stays fresh...

the brakes, just need inspecting not replacing at 12k miles...
if they need replacing you need to learn better braking techneques.

this can be had at most race track or racing schools, and it is a fun weekend event..

Drop the glove box down and look for a panel that says air filter

From the FSM

1. Remove the glove box bin (refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/BIN-GLOVE BOX - REMOVAL).
2. Disengage the two retaining tabs (1) that secure the particulate air filter cover (2) to the passenger side of the HVAC housing (3) and remove the cover.
3. Remove the particulate air filter (1) from the HVAC housing (2) by pulling the filter element straight out of the housing.

I know the cabin air filtration deal is an option, but are the "workings" for the system there even if you don't order this option? In other words, can you just pop a filter in there if you haven't ordered this option?

It'd be real cool if you could. :D

If ya'll are talking about just changing the filter in the cabin air filtration system that comes with Premium Group II, then it is easy. I took a couple apart at the dealer while standing around before I got my KK. Just drop the glove box down. There are little tabs on each side. Then you can see the assembly Digger posted an image of. You can pop it open, slide out one filter, then you have to slide the other filter that is next to it over to slide it out. Then just repeat the procedure in reverse to install new ones.

If you're talking about installing the cabin air filtration system on a vehicle that does not have it.....well, the official Jeep instructions show you have to remove the entire flippin' dash assembly to do so. I may be getting back in a couple weeks with an alternate approach..........

There are two different p/n's for the HVAC housing. Unfortunately I don't have a clue as to which unit has a filter and which doesn't. If it is the expensive units, it looks like 80 bucks for the upper and lower units and 80 bucks for the new blower motor

Dang...it's definitely not worth all that expense and effort.

Thanks Digger and Mtn.
