You know, it really isn't as dramatic as one might expect....but then again, we are used to seeing pictures in magazines and on the net of guys wheeling rigs that have been lifted 8"!

I was stunned to see a KJ at Marlin's place that had been jacked 12".....it was a friggin' beast. At the same time...it looked kind of funny because even with larger tires, the rubber didn't fill the wheel wells.

I wanted to avoid that...and I wanted to avoid loosing significant gas mileage. So I opted for a mild, but quality lift and a small increase (29" to 30.5") in tire size.

I'll tell you this...at the end of the day my rig is sitting approximately 2.5 + .75 = 3.25" taller....and I feel it. That's worth the investment.

Just got back from Disney yesterday....tomorrow I'll get the washers and add them. Noise really isn't too bad. Ride is great!

What a difference! Let me know if you find the ride to be as comfortable as I did.

Bingo! Basically, I went from 29" to 30.5" tires. This is my first experience with a lift and oversized tires, so I did everything moderately for the first time.

Well I must say it looks GOOD! The portions looks perfect. Good size tires for the lift. So one with a 4" lift must get 31.5" tires to look right.

Would you say that you got enough lift from the lift?

And that looks good too. Why is it that diggers pics don't look almost twice the height??

But can 30.7" fit??

Also can you take some measurements of your lift with the 30.5" tires?
Here is measurements from my stock KK: http://www.einemphotography.com/myphotos/2008KK/clearances-stock.jpg

E2....seriously man...take a look at my pictures. Those are 30.5" tires, and they don't come close to overfilling the wheel wells. You are worried about .2"? How wide are you looking to go? Mine are 245, but I bet you could get 265 in there....I wouldn't, but I'm sure you could.

Right after the lift install, I measured and it was at 4" on the front. I did not measure the back. I will let it settle a while and measure it again all around.
I am going to go with 30.6" tires when the $ allows. For now the stock tires will have to do.
unclejjg, The ride is stiffer than stock. More like the jeep I was used to. (85 Cherokee) I like it. :D
The best part is, I don't hit the bump-stops when going over speed bumps.
