Went to check to make sure the plug in connectors where ok(esp. the heating element one) both of looked fine as far as the male parts but when i look at the females(the one that the terminal plug into on the filter head) the heating element one looked like it was wet inside. Sure enough it had a little bit of fuel in it. Dried it off and with the plugs still off push the primer on the fuel head and i seen fuel/bubbles coming out of the heating element side. Could also hear some hissing. I'm assuming this isn't right. If not what would be the most appropriate fix. Thanks for any feed back.

needs a new filter head - no good repairs for the old - if it's leaking fuel out - a lot more air is being pulledin
in you're still under warranty - they should replace it

if not - Racor is the best - but the newly redesigned Mopar seems to work pretty well too

Forgot to mention it's at 45,000 miles so out of warrenty. Definatelt not keeping a prime at all. Seems like the jeep has been a little sluggish lately....would this be the possible cause?

Yes - air leaking into the fuel will definitely cause performance problems

(a Lift pump would be extra insurance - but the fuel head is first)

don't plug the heater harness in, OR SHE MIGHT BURN!

I would clean that pug out with brakleen, let it dry, and fill the filter head side with some rtv, till you get a new filter head installed. I wouldn't run it for long like that either.

I can 1000% recommend the NEW STYLE MOPAR part. it's two bolts 2 hose clamps one wire harness, two solders and 2 crimps and then a little ligher vs shrink wrap and your done.

You get a new filter and water sensor to boot.

See this thread.
