I've searched the service manual for U146 and U0146 and don't see the code.

The gateway module (also called the FCM or Front Control Module although it doesn't control anything) is below the fuse box in the front driver side of the engine compartment. Check to see if there is anything rubbing against the wiring or any signs of such in that area. Sounds like an intermittent wiring condition.

thanks i was workimg in that area the other day and moved the fuse box to get at the headlights so im going to ck that and see if i can fix it thanks again.

im trying to find the problem it is one of thos3e intermiten thigs some times i pops rite back uop after i clear it and sometimes it takes a few days got to be a bad wire or connector . thanks for asking if u get any more ideas let me know thanks again john
