Nice looking. Can't wait to see how that tire carrier is going to be set up.

Cacher, you're too worried about trimming. I understand what you're saying, but these bumpers are for folks who take it off road. They're very functional in that they're designed to give more clearance. Only way to do that is to remove some of what's already there. My front and rear bumpers (well, prior to my ARB being on ) are both all scratched up on the bottoms from wheeling. ONly way to get a bumper up high and tight is to remove some of the plastic. If done right, it looks good.

Yes, once done, there's no turning back without buying new body parts.

Rock Liz, looks good. Keep the info coming. You are the first manufacturer to REALLY get our feedback and share your progress on this board. For that we thank you.

If you build it, we will come (and buy).

LOOKS GREAT!

Yes, you are definitely headed in the right direction. Are you thinking about a primed finish or shipping raw steel? Probably wouldn't be too hard to have it powder coated in millenium grey to match the ARB front. Just my 2 cents. Or should I say 2 point something cents Canadian.

I'm trying to stay away from PC. I can PC if wanted, but the problem is it adds more to the cost, not just for the coating, but for extra packaging, and this thing will be fun for the UPS guys, so it is going to get beat around some on the trip, then install damages, etc. Just easier and cheaper to get it done on arrival, but there are so many better, cheaper, and stronger coatings now that would work better on offroad armor. If it is a street queen, then go ahead for the PC, but for the trail, I highly recommend shooting it with something easy to touch up. I stopped powdercoating my own parts that I put on my jeep and spend about $10 on Rustoleum primer and Hammered paint. That Hammered stuff when allowed to cure for a day or two is some of the strongest stuff I have used, and it looks cool. But, my new manufacturer has a spray booth that they can shoot whatever I need, or they can get it PC for me. I'll burn that bridge once I get to it.

Some of that DIY spray-on-bedliner/garage-floor-paint works wonders on parts that will see a lot of wear and tear.
It's usually available in a textured version too which is great for things that you may stand on (like bumpers). It also works on plastic if, say, you have a sport model and would like your plastic trim to match.

I'd love to see the final product of the rear bumper! if it looks as good as it does now, i may be inclined to purchase one!

RL, are you planning on having a 2 " integrated receiver?

BTW, please be sure it can fit at least a 33 x 12.50 tire on it, and I'm definitely interested. (I posted one of the first enquiries looking for a rear bumper here about a year ago :D ) Maybe even try to acommodate a bigger tire (37" ?) since with the bigger lifts coming out guys will be putting ever bigger tires on.

I also think it's important that the bottom of the bumper be flat (horizontal) both sideways and toward the front (or even slanted up a little, not down), to get a strong bite on a high-lift jack when lifting the jeep in the mud. That's probably the main reason I'd like a different bumper.

As for my wish list feature, I'd like to be able to carry two 33 x 12.50 tires on it, as I sometimes take 2 spares on a long trail ride, and the center of gravity (and ease of changing) is a lot better there, than on the roof.

Thanks again for making these - I hope it's a profittable venture for you. :D

It will be able to handle up to atleast a 35" tire. I will have Highlift cutouts in the bumper, so that's covered. I'll have to take some measurements to see if two 33's would fit side by side without covering the taillights.

And the rear bumper will have an integrated hitch reciever in answer to an earlier question. Already got that part designed up for ultimate strength, and it gains 4"+ over the stock hitch receiver. A stock hitch will still fit if wanted, like you see in those pictures.

Tease! Now you really got my attention, as I am real tired of dragging the rear hitch on rocks.

OK, compare this picture to this, and you will get an idea where the hitch will be in comparison to the stock hitch, and the shackle tabs and highlift inserts.

You can also compare that last drawing with the front bumper to get an idea what the front will look like:

Look at all these horn dogs drooling over these ideas and designs.....LOL!

Make sure the front will open up the wheel well area so bigger tires can have some breathing room.
