Anyone know of an aftermarket turbo kit/intercooler for the crd? The Dealership is going to replace the turbo and I would like to upgrade to a better one. It is 500 miles from the warrenty being up so they are actually doing me a favor. The mechanic also said the jeep was designed to have oil injected into the intake to lube the top end, is this true? I have never seen a diesel engine set up like this. Also where is the best place to get SAMCO hoses? 8)

There isn't a better setup than what you already have. The intercooler and turbo already produce more air and cooling than what this little motor will handle.

Run away, and fast. This guy has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what he is talking about. There is some oil going into the intake, but not by design. The underengineered PCV valve allows the intake to suck oil vapor into the intake, creating a nasty, gummy, sludge. Doing the ORM and Elephant hose mods will fix the problem.

Thanks Guys. It is obvious this guy does not know what he is talking about. They have had the jeep in 5 times to fix the EGR/Underboost code. He keeps replacing sensor after sensor. Friday they called and told me it needed a new turbo/intercooler. Not sure the turbo is bad but if they are going to fix it for free I'll let em.

Well after multiple sensors, a new egr, egr cooler, egr flow control valve, intercooler, turbo, and boost hoses the jeep is finally fixed. Also a $5000 warrenty bill. I have to tell you the jeep runs like it did when i bought it, maybe a little better. The turbo was shot and filling the intercooler and everything connected to the intake with oil. Fyi everyone should pull there boost hoses and check for oil.

Most of us been there and done that. Some oil in the in the hoses is normal with crankcase ventilation return to the intake. Intake crud is mostly from the EGR, flow control valve directing soot/exhaust back through the intake. Thank the government for the soot in the intake and thanks to the ORM to stop that. Provent can help a little with oil vapors from the crankcase but still some will get through.
